JUNE 10 – BLOOD

06/10          Colossians 1:14

God has purchased our freedom with his blood and has forgiven all our sins.

BLOOD

The blood of Jesus was shed for you. His blood cleanses you from all unrighteousness and provides forgiveness for your sin. Jesus did for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He is Lord.

JUNE 9 – DARKNESS

06/09          Colossians 1:13

For he has rescued us from the one who rules in the kingdom of darkness, and he has brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son.

DARKNESS

We formerly lived in darkness, dead in our trespasses and sin. Jesus saved us and now we live in the light. We will never live in the darkness again for Jesus is the LIGHT and life and we live in Him.

JUNE 8 – JOY

06/08          Colossians 1:11-12

We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father, who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God’s holy people, who live in the light.

JOY

People are looking for joy. They think it will be in money or success or status-always related to a thing or an event. Joy is something we have inside when we come into the Family of God. We have real joy in Jesus Christ.

JUNE 7 – WISE

06/07          Colossians 1:10
Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and you will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, you will learn to know God better and better.

WISE
When we receive wisdom from the Lord we become wise in spiritual things. As we serve the Lord those spiritual things translate into our being wise in the way we live. A wise person fears God, loves Jesus and loves people.

JUNE 6 – WISE

06/06          Colossians 1:9
So we have continued praying for you ever since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you a complete understanding of what he wants to do in your lives, and we ask him to make you wise with spiritual wisdom.

WISE
Read the Word of God, meditate on it, apply it to your life and you will be wise. Listen to the Lord and you will grow in wisdom.

JUNE 5 – TOLD

06/05          Colossians 1:7-8

Epaphras, our much-loved co-worker, was the one who brought you the Good News. He is Christ’s faithful servant, and he is helping us in your place. 8 He is the one who told us about the great love for others that the Holy Spirit has given you.

TOLD

Who told you about Jesus? Pray for them. Who have you told about Jesus? Pray for them.

JUNE 4 – GOSPEL

06/04          Colossians 1:6

This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is changing lives everywhere, just as it changed yours that very first day you heard and understood the truth about God’s great kindness to sinners.

GOSPEL
Proclaim it with every breath. Be faithful in sharing. Make sharing the Gospel a part of your normal Christian walk. Jesus is Lord. Tell the world about it. He saves us from our sin giving us life and moving us from the realm of death and darkness to the realm of light, peace and eternal life.

JUNE 3 – HOPE

06/03          Colossians 1:5

You do this because you are looking forward to the joys of heaven — as you have been ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.

HOPE
Christian hope is solid and substantial. It is embedded in in the eternal truth of God. When we are saved we are forever bound up in Jesus. He will never leave us. We belong to Him. Hope looks ahead. We have absolute hope for the future when we will be together with Him in Heaven. God guarantees our hope in His infallible Word. Jesus is Lord. We have hope and can look forward to being with Him in Heaven.

JUNE 2 – LOVE

06/02          Colossians 1:3-4

We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 for we have heard that you trust in Christ Jesus and that you love all of God’s people.

LOVE
Real love is the word used here. We should love everyone including our enemies but in this case the word simply means that there is a strong bond between brothers and sisters in Christ-Jesus Himself- and we are to have a very strong love for them as Jesus loves us.

JUNE 1 – GRACE AND PEACE

06/01          Colossians 1:1-2

This letter is from Paul, chosen by God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy. 2 It is written to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.

GRACE AND PEACE
God’s gift to you and me is His grace, giving us what we need and cannot earn and His peace, the aggressive activity of God in us to give us His presence which is peace.
