FEB 18 – BELIEVE

02/18 Luke 14:12-14
Then he turned to his host. “When you put on a luncheon or a dinner,” he said, “don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors. For they will repay you by inviting you back. 13 Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. 14 Then at the resurrection of the godly, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.”
BELIEVE
Do you believe in Christ? If you do then you believe in the resurrection. We are to live ready to be with the Lord. We are to count the cost of the things we do. Think about your life and how you are living. Make sure you are investing in things that last. Jesus is Lord.

FEB 17 – HUMILITY

02/17 Luke 14:7-11
When Jesus noticed that all who had come to the dinner were trying to sit near the head of the table, he gave them this advice: 8 “If you are invited to a wedding feast, don’t always head for the best seat. What if someone more respected than you has also been invited? 9 The host will say, ‘Let this person sit here instead.’ Then you will be embarrassed and will have to take whatever seat is left at the foot of the table! 10 “Do this instead — sit at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place than this for you!’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests. 11 For the proud will be humbled, but the humble will be honored.”
HUMILITY
Humility is an acquired habit. Our inclination often is to claim first place, to fight to be the leader and to demand that we be treated a certain way. Humility calls us to value others. Not to devalue ourselves but instead to count others as equals and as deserving the very things that we want. Humility will teach us that real success is in giving. Learn to be humble.

FEB 16 – LIFE

02/16 Luke 14:5-6
Then he turned to them and asked, “Which of you doesn’t work on the Sabbath? If your son or your cow falls into a pit, don’t you proceed at once to get him out?” 6 Again they had no answer.
LIFE
Life is happening all the time. Time spent is time lost. Time is so important. We are to be careful how we spend our time and it is important that whenever we can we redeem the time by spending time with the Lord. Prayer, Bible reading and listening to the Lord are things that redeem the time by making us more effective and better equipped to face the day.

FEB 15 – IMPORTANT

02/15 Luke 14:3-4
Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in religious law, “Well, is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath day, or not?” 4 When they refused to answer, Jesus touched the sick man and healed him and sent him away.
IMPORTANT
You are important to Jesus. He is concerned about your life everyday. Spend time with Him. Listen to Him. Obey Him. Jesus loves you.

FEB 14 – OUTSIDE

02/14 Luke 14:1-2
One Sabbath day Jesus was in the home of a leader of the Pharisees. The people were watching him closely, 2 because there was a man there whose arms and legs were swollen.
OUTSIDE
The Pharisees were all about appearances. How things looked on the outside. They were often mean, evil, wicked and bad, based on the way they treated people. Jesus died for people. Before you and I were saved Jesus died for our sin. When you look at people what do you see? Jesus looked at people through the eyes of love. Christ loves you. You can do what you need to do to live your life for Jesus.

FEB 13 – JESUS

02/13 Luke 13:34-35
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me. 35 And now look, your house is left to you empty. And you will never see me again until you say, ‘Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”
JESUS
Jesus is God. He came from the Father and returned to the Father. He is the creator. He is our future judge. Jesus is God’s everything. When Jesus speaks the Father is speaking thru Him. Listen to Jesus.

FEB 12 – CONTROL

02/12 Luke 13:31-33
A few minutes later some Pharisees said to him, “Get out of here if you want to live, because Herod Antipas wants to kill you!” 32 Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox that I will keep on casting out demons and doing miracles of healing today and tomorrow; and the third day I will accomplish my purpose. 33 Yes, today, tomorrow, and the next day I must proceed on my way. For it wouldn’t do for a prophet of God to be killed except in Jerusalem!
CONTROL
God is in control especially when all of your life is out of control. Trust Jesus and let Him have your infirmities, failures and heartache. The Lord never wastes a hurt. Jesus loves you.

FEB 11 – ARROGANT

02/11 Luke 13:29-30
Then people will come from all over the world to take their places in the Kingdom of God. 30 And note this: Some who are despised now will be greatly honored then; and some who are greatly honored now will be despised then. ”
ARROGANT
I look at my life and kneel and pray before the Lord. Father help me to do those things that I can do and not think ill of those that are called to do other things. Help me to love the people and give all honor and glory to YOU. I do not want to develop an arrogant attitude. I want to serve YOU.

FEB 9 – YES

02/09 Luke 13:22-25
Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” He replied, 24 “The door to heaven is narrow. Work hard to get in, because many will try to enter, 25 but when the head of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. Then you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know you.’
YES
Jesus said that He was the way the truth and the life and that there was no other way to the Father. So many waste their life trying to make their own way to God. So arrogant to think that we can manipulate God to change His Word and it will not happen. Jesus is the only way to the Father. His Words not mine.

FEB 10 – SPIRITUALITY

02/10 Luke 13:26-28
You will say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 And he will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you. Go away, all you who do evil.’ 28 “And there will be great weeping and gnashing of teeth, for you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets within the Kingdom of God, but you will be thrown out.
SPIRITUALITY
People love to develop their spirituality. They have big ideas and great plans of how they would run the world and how things should be. It is only fairy tales and whistling in the dark. Jesus has said thus saith the Lord. We are to say Amen and so be it Lord. Jesus is the only way.
