JAN 19 – WORRY

01/19 Luke 12:22-24
Then turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “So I tell you, don’t worry about everyday life — whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. 23 For life consists of far more than food and clothing. 24 Look at the ravens. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!
WORRY
Don’t worry instead take your cares and concerns to Jesus. Stay with Jesus until He lifts the burden from you. Will it take and hour, or much more? I don’t know but I do know that Jesus will shoulder your burdens and carry them for you.

JAN 18 – FOCUS

01/18 Luke 12:15-21
Then he said, “Beware! Don’t be greedy for what you don’t have. Real life is not measured by how much we own.” 16 And he gave an illustration: “A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops. 17 In fact, his barns were full to overflowing. 18 So he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store everything. 19 And I’ll sit back and say to myself, My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!’ 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get it all?’ 21 “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”
FOCUS
What is the focus of your life? Are you overwhelmed with problems? Sit down and take stock of what is going on in your life. Is Jesus the focus? Make Him your focus and let Him give you the wisdom, mercy, grace and understanding that you need. Additionally, ask Him to deal with the difficulties you are facing. Jesus is Lord and you are first with Him.

JAN 17 – JUDGE

01/17 Luke 12:13-14
Then someone called from the crowd, “Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father’s estate with me.” 14 Jesus replied, “Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?”
JUDGE
We waste a lot of time judging others. We need to listen to Jesus-He calls us to love one another. Save the judging for disciplining yourself. Love those around you. Be a be and do a do.

JAN 16 – SPEAK

01/16 Luke 12:10-12
Yet those who speak against the Son of Man may be forgiven, but anyone who speaks blasphemies against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. 11 “And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about what to say in your defense, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you what needs to be said even as you are standing there.”
SPEAK
Speak carefully and kindly. When under attack trust the Lord for what to say. Trust the Lord with all of your heart and you will never be defeated. Jesus is Lord and what He guides us to do will last. Do not be overwhelmed or downcast. Jesus is your peace He is your joy and you can stand knowing that you have His peace and joy.

JAN 15 – WISDOM

01/15 Luke 12:7-9
And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to him than a whole flock of sparrows. 8 “And I assure you of this: If anyone acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I, the Son of Man, will openly acknowledge that person in the presence of God’s angels. 9 But if anyone denies me here on earth, I will deny that person before God’s angels.
WISDOM
We think we have wisdom but we don’t know the number of hairs on our head nor the grains of sand on the seashore but God knows this and every thing else. There is no limit to the Lord’s wisdom. He knows you. He knows all about you much more than you know about yourself. God knows. He knows your need and He is diligently seeking to meet your need. God loves you.

JAN 14 – ACTIVE

01/14 LUKE 12:6
“What is the price of five sparrows? A couple of pennies? Yet God does not forget a single one of them.
ACTIVE
God is active in our world. He knows EVERYTHING that is going on and He has not forgotten you. Take your troubles to the Lord. Ask Him to work out the solution you need. Trust the Lord to do what is best for you.

JAN 13 – FEAR

01/13 LUKE 12:4-5
“Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill you. They can only kill the body; they cannot do any more to you. 5 But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill people and then throw them into hell.
FEAR
We must understand whom we are dealing with. Life is a journey of decision-making. Christ is King and the decision we make related to eternal life are real. We can choose Jesus or we are against God. Being against God, choosing to be separate from Him in eternity is a real, tragic choice that we must come to grips with or experience eternal separation from God. Know the Lord, accept Jesus and He will make you a member of God’s family. Choose JESUS and never fear.

JAN 12 – ACCOUNTABLE

01/12 LUKE 12:2-3
The time is coming when everything will be revealed; all that is secret will be made public. 3 Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!
ACCOUNTABLE
We are accountable for the things we do and say. Jesus forgives sin but we are still accountable and will be accountable when we stand before Jesus. Live your life in such a way that you will not be saddened by the things you do and say. Follow Jesus.

JAN 11 – CHANGE

01/11 Luke 12:1
Meanwhile, the crowds grew until thousands were milling about and crushing each other. Jesus turned first to his disciples and warned them, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees — beware of their hypocrisy.
CHANGE
We are looking to change and become more like Jesus. All around there are charlatans that would tell us what to do while their lives are tragic sinful lives. Be sure you are following Jesus. He does not burden us with useless requirements. Jesus says turn to me and I will forgive you and guide you in the correct way

JAN 10 – SAME

01/10 Luke 11:49
This is what God in his wisdom said about you: ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill some and persecute the others.’ 50 “And you of this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God’s prophets from the creation of the world — 51 from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, it will surely be charged against you. 52 “How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.” 53 As Jesus finished speaking, the Pharisees and teachers of religious law were furious. From that time on they grilled him with many hostile questions, 54 trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him.
SAME
We still deal with sin. Tragically we often overlook our sin as we condemn others. Today take stock of your sin. Go to Jesus with it. He loves you. He forgives your sin. Repent and go to Jesus.
