JAN 12 – ACCOUNTABLE

01/12 LUKE 12:2-3
The time is coming when everything will be revealed; all that is secret will be made public. 3 Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!
ACCOUNTABLE
We are accountable for the things we do and say. Jesus forgives sin but we are still accountable and will be accountable when we stand before Jesus. Live your life in such a way that you will not be saddened by the things you do and say. Follow Jesus.

JAN 11 – CHANGE

01/11 Luke 12:1
Meanwhile, the crowds grew until thousands were milling about and crushing each other. Jesus turned first to his disciples and warned them, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees — beware of their hypocrisy.
CHANGE
We are looking to change and become more like Jesus. All around there are charlatans that would tell us what to do while their lives are tragic sinful lives. Be sure you are following Jesus. He does not burden us with useless requirements. Jesus says turn to me and I will forgive you and guide you in the correct way

JAN 10 – SAME

01/10 Luke 11:49
This is what God in his wisdom said about you: ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill some and persecute the others.’ 50 “And you of this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God’s prophets from the creation of the world — 51 from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, it will surely be charged against you. 52 “How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.” 53 As Jesus finished speaking, the Pharisees and teachers of religious law were furious. From that time on they grilled him with many hostile questions, 54 trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him.
SAME
We still deal with sin. Tragically we often overlook our sin as we condemn others. Today take stock of your sin. Go to Jesus with it. He loves you. He forgives your sin. Repent and go to Jesus.

JAN 9 – REAP

01/09 Luke 11:45-48
“Teacher,” said an expert in religious law, “you have insulted us, too, in what you just said.” 46 “Yes,” said Jesus, “how terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you crush people beneath impossible religious demands, and you never lift a finger to help ease the burden. 47 How terrible it will be for you! For you build tombs for the very prophets your ancestors killed long ago. 48 Murderers! You agree with your ancestors that what they did was right. You would have done the same yourselves.
REAP
We will reap what we sow. If we sow a life of surrender to Jesus and love for people we will reap an eternal reward. But if we choose to follow self we will reap the whirlwind. Follow Jesus. He is the only way.

JAN 8 – HOW?

01/08 Luke 11:41-44
So give to the needy what you greedily possess, and you will be clean all over. 42 “But how terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you completely forget about justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things. 43 “How terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For how you love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the respectful greetings from everyone as you walk through the markets! 44 Yes, how terrible it will be for you. For you are like hidden graves in a field. People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on.”
HOW?
These Pharisees were the most righteous – self-righteous – people on earth. How can I live my life properly? By doing what Jesus says- love one another and follow Him. Love the Lord Jesus, listen to Him and do what He says. Live the life and love the people.

JAN 7 – SELF

01/07 Luke 11:37-40
As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a meal. So he went in and took his place at the table. 38 His host was amazed to see that he sat down to eat without first performing the ceremonial washing required by Jewish custom. 39 Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are still filthy — full of greed and wickedness! 40 Fools! Didn’t God make the inside as well as the outside?
SELF
The Pharisees saw God as someone to control. Their life was focused on what people saw and they totally ignored the inner life. The Lord calls us to be filled with the Spirit. The Spirit of God will lead us into the right way. Do not be fooled you cannot control God for that is a sin. Surrender you life to Jesus and let Him lead you in the right way.

JAN 6 – LIGHT

01/06 Luke 11:35-36
Make sure that the light you think you have is not really darkness. 36 If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight is shining on you.”
LIGHT
Light comes from Jesus not from movements, good deeds, things we summon up or ideas from ancient civilizations. Jesus gives us light for living. When His light guides us we are not arrogant, self-centered or selfish. We love others as we love our self and do unto others, as we would have them do unto us. His light and life fill us and we are usable by the Lord. We give Him the hard things and we submit to His direction.

JAN 5 – LIGHT

01/05 Luke 11:33-34
“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, it is put on a lampstand to give light to all who enter the room. 34 Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness.
LIGHT
Jesus brings sight to the lost. Once we were dead in our trespasses and sin, we cried out to Him and He saved us. A free gift that we could not buy but by simply asking Jesus to come into our hearts we have this free gift for a price-the death and resurrection of Jesus by the power of God. Jesus saves us.

JAN 4 – PLAN

01/04 Jeremiah 29: 11-12
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.
PLAN
God’s plan for your life is perfect. Every thought the Lord has towards you is a thought for good. Do not be foolish let the Lord lead you. His plans give you hope and opportunity. They bring light and life to you. Jesus is alive and He is residing in your heart.

JAN 3 – REDEEM

01/03 Psalm 90:12
Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.
REDEEM
Lord help us to redeem our time. Make us productive, usable and useful. Speak to our hearts, redirect our activities that we do your will well. Jesus help me grow in Christ likeness becoming more like Jesus every day. Guide me Lord.
