Today's Good News

SEPTEMBER 24 – WANT

09/24 John 6:30-33
They replied, “You must show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What will you do for us? 31 After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! As the Scriptures say, ‘Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ” 32 Jesus said, “I assure you, Moses didn’t give them bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. 33 The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
WANT
We want: right now, all the time, what we don’t have, and what we shouldn’t have. The Lord knows our need. He will meet our need. We need to learn to trust the Lord and to commit our way to the Lord. Follow Jesus and He will deal with your want.

SEPTEMBER 23 – BELIEVE

09/23 John 6:28-29
They replied, “What does God want us to do?” 29 Jesus told them, “This is what God wants you to do: Believe in the one he has sent.”
BELIEVE
Step one in following the Lord’s plan for your life is for you to believe in Jesus. Get this right or nothing else will work. Make sure that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Surrender you heart to Jesus and believe in Him.

SEPTEMBER 22 – SENT

09/22 John 6:25
When they arrived and found him, they asked, “Teacher, how did you get here?” 26 Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign. 27 But you shouldn’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you. For God the Father has sent me for that very purpose.”
SENT
The Father sent Jesus to us. Jesus is with us and He is seeking to guide us. What are you facing today? What ever it is Jesus can help you deal with your challenges. Seek the Lord now while He may be found.

SEPTEMBER 21 – WANTED

09/21 John 6:22-24
The next morning, back across the lake, crowds began gathering on the shore, waiting to see Jesus. For they knew that he and his disciples had come over together and that the disciples had gone off in their boat, leaving him behind. 23 Several boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the Lord had blessed the bread and the people had eaten. 24 When the crowd saw that Jesus wasn’t there, nor his disciples, they got into the boats and went across to Capernaum to look for him.
WANTED
The crowd wanted Jesus to do their bidding. They didn’t know Jesus and they didn’t understand what He was bringing to them. Jesus is Lord and the people wanted a servant to do their bidding.

SEPTEMBER 20 – TIME

09/20 John 6:21
Then they were eager to let him in, and immediately the boat arrived at their destination!
TIME
Time does not have a hold on Jesus. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Time runs down on us. Aging is a difficult taskmaster but we will always, always, always be with Jesus. He will never leave us nor will He abandon us to the ravages of time.

SEPTEMBER 19 – FEARLESS

09/19 John 6:18-20
Soon a gale swept down upon them as they rowed, and the sea grew very rough. 19 They were three or four miles out when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, 20 but he called out to them, “I am here! Don’t be afraid.”
FEARLESS
We can live a fearless life in Christ. Nothing can separate us from the Lord. Nothing can destroy us. Nothing can defeat us. Jesus is in control and will never let us go. There is wonder working power in the Lord. Jesus saves and saves us completely.

SEPTEMBER 18 – TIME

09/18 John 6:16-17
That evening his disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. 17 But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed out across the lake toward Capernaum.
TIME
We need to spend time with the Father. Jesus calls us to know Him and the only way we can know and grow is to spend time with the Lord. Pray, meditate, read God’s Word-the Bible- and you will grow in knowledge and relationship with the Lord.

SEPTEMBER 17 – FULLNESS

09/17 John 6:12-15
“Now gather the leftovers,” Jesus told his disciples, “so that nothing is wasted.” 13 There were only five barley loaves to start with, but twelve baskets were filled with the pieces of bread the people did not eat! 14 When the people saw this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, “Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!” 15 Jesus saw that they were ready to take him by force and make him king, so he went higher into the hills alone.
FULLNESS
Christ brings fullness into our life. We do not live a restricted existence for in Jesus we have the fullness of the Lord. Jesus is our every thing. Christ forgives our sin and brings us into the family of God-He is our elder brother and the Lord is our Father. The Holy Spirit guides us. No longer are we at the mercy of the world for Jesus is Lord of all. We live in His victory. He is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 16 – FULL

09/16 John 6:10-11
“Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus ordered. So all of them — the men alone numbered five thousand — sat down on the grassy slopes. 11 Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and passed them out to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate until they were full.
FULL
When you spend time with Jesus He will give you what you need and cannot earn-real life in Jesus Christ. He will fill you full of everything you need and full to overflowing of everything the Lord wants you to have-Jesus!

SEPTEMBER 15 – ABLE

09/15 John 6:7-9
Philip replied, “It would take a small fortune to feed them!” 8 Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. 9 “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”
ABLE
God is able to deal with your life. Jesus can equip you and guide you so that you can realize His life in you. Claim His presence moment by moment. Let Jesus have His way with you.
