FEBRUARY 16 – EXAMPLE

2/16 Luke 11:1
Once when Jesus had been out praying, one of his disciples came to him as he finished and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

EXAMPLE
The stories and events in the Bible are there to be an example as to what to do and not do. We want to pray like Jesus therefore we need to spend time with Him in prayer and in the Word.

FEBRUARY 15 – FOCUS

2/15 Luke 10:38-42
As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a village where a woman named Martha welcomed them into her home. 39 Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. 40 But Martha was worrying over the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” 41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are so upset over all these details! 42 There is really only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it — and I won’t take it away from her.”

FOCUS
What holds your focus? Are you spending time with Jesus or are the cares and worries of this world got you down. Have faith in Jesus and spend time with Him. He is Lord and He loves you.

FEBRUARY 14 – MERCY

2/14 Luke 10:30-37
Jesus replied with an illustration: “A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes and money, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road.” 31 “By chance a Jewish priest came along; but when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. 32 A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.” 33 “Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt deep pity. 34 Kneeling beside him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with medicine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35 The next day he handed the innkeeper two pieces of silver and told him to take care of the man. ‘If his bill runs higher than that,’ he said, ‘I’ll pay the difference the next time I am here.'” 36 “Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked. 37 The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”

MERCY
Have mercy on those you deal with each day. Have mercy on the people you come into contact with each day. We are called to be merciful because the Lord is merciful to us. Have mercy on everyone you meet.

FEBRUARY 13 – WHO?

2/13 Luke 10:29
The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

WHO
Who is your neighbor? Everyone you come into contact with. People count with Jesus.

FEBRUARY 12 – LOVE

2/12 Luke 10:25-28
One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?” 26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” 27 The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” 28 “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”

LOVE
The key for Christian living is to love the Lord God with all of yourself. The problem is that too many want to love the world and control God. We cannot control God we can only serve Him. The result of loving God will be loving one another.

FEBRUARY 11 – HEAR

2/11 Luke 10:23-24
Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and said, “How privileged you are to see what you have seen. 24 I tell you, many prophets and kings have longed to see and hear what you have seen and heard, but they could not.”

HEAR
Are you listening for the Lord? Spend time with Him in the Word. Today ask Him to let you hear Him as you go through your day.

FEBRUARY 10 – FATHER

2/10 Luke 10:22
“My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

FATHER
We don’t know God unless He chooses to reveal Himself to us. He has sent Jesus to us so that we can know Him and through Him know the Father. Jesus is Lord. Get to know Him.

FEBRUARY 9 – FATHER

2/9 Luke 10:21
Then Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever, and for revealing it to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.”

FATHER
We have a Father in heaven. He knows all about us and all that is going on with us. Jesus is Lord and He keeps us connected with the Father. This day thank the Lord for His concern for your life. Jesus loves you.

FEBRUARY 8 – REGISTERED

2/8 Luke 10:17-20
When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” 18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan falling from heaven as a flash of lightning! 19 And I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20 But don’t rejoice just because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered as citizens of heaven.”

REGISTERED
Is your name registered as a citizen of heaven? Make sure it is. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin and that you accept His free gift of Salvation. Praise the Lord for Jesus is Lord.

FEBRUARY 7 – REJECT

2/7 Luke 10:16
Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God who sent me.”

REJECT
People need to hear the Lord and accept His message: Good News-God in Christ has made a way for us and paid the price for us to come into the Family of God. Our responsibility is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord. When people decline your presentation of the Gospel, they aren’t rejecting you they are rejecting God.
