01/06          Ephesians 4:24

24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

BE

Be changed and then you will be the kind of person that is truly righteous and holy.  We must be before we can do.  Be His first then you can do His work.

JANUARY 5 – RENEW

01/05          Ephesians 4:22-23

22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.

RENEW

As you begin this New Year let Jesus have your focus, your attention, your heart.  Spend time with Him.  Ask Him to help you overcome that which is of the world and to give you the strength to be what He wants you to be.

JANUARY 4 – PROPHECY

01/04          Isaiah 43:19

19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

PROPHECY

Prophecy fulfilled when Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem.  Jesus is Lord.

JANUARY 3 – SAVED

01/03          2 Corinthians 5:17-21

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

SAVED

We are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus.  When we come into His family we act and live differently than those that are dead in their trespasses and sin.  We do good works because we belong to Him.

JANUARY 2 – CHILD

01/02          Romans 8:14-21

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” 16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. 18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.

CHILD

Make sure you are a child of God.  Ask Him.  He will tell you.  Listen.  You will hear.  Jesus is Lord.

JANUARY 1 – PRAISE

01/01          Psalm 98:1-9

1 Sing a new song to the LORD, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power! 2 The LORD has announced his victory and has revealed his righteousness to every nation! 3 He has remembered his promise to love and be faithful to Israel. The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God. 4 Shout to the LORD, all the earth; break out in praise and sing for joy! 5 Sing your praise to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and melodious song, 6 with trumpets and the sound of the ram’s horn. Make a joyful symphony before the LORD, the King! 7 Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the earth and all living things join in. 8 Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy 9 before the LORD, for he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with fairness.

PRAISE

Praise the Lord.  He is worthy of all praise and honor.  Begin this year voicing your love and praise for Jesus.

DECEMBER 31 – LOVE

12/31 Romans 5:5

5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

LOVE
God is love.  He created us in love, He saves us by His love, Jesus lived a perfect life in our world and He died for us because of His great love for us.  God is love and He loves you.

DECEMBER 30 – HOPE

12/30          Isaiah 40:30-31

30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

HOPE

We have real life daily hope in Jesus.  He brings us into a forever relationship with the Lord.  Jesus is for the day that we live.  He conquers our fears.  He gives us strength for the day.  Jesus is our hope.

DECEMBER 29 – PROPHECY

12/29          Matthew 2:19-23

But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said, 20 “Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.” 21 So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Then after being warned by God in a dream, he left for the regions of Galilee, 23 and came and lived in a city called Nazareth. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets: “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

PROPHECY

Jesus was foretold by the Prophets.  They were told by the Lord about what the Lord was going to do.  Amazing God we serve.  He wants us to know what He is up to.  He loves you and me and He is seeking to bring us into His family.

DECEMBER 28 – TRAGEDY

12/28          Matthew 2:16-18

Then when Herod saw that he had been tricked by the magi, he became very enraged, and sent and slew all the male children who were in Bethlehem and all its vicinity, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the magi. 17 Then what had been spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: 18 “A VOICE WAS HEARD IN RAMAH, WEEPING AND GREAT MOURNING, RACHEL WEEPING FOR HER CHILDREN; AND SHE REFUSED * TO BE COMFORTED, BECAUSE THEY WERE NO MORE.”

TRAGEDY

Great tragedy and loss happens in this world and we don’t know the reasons why but we do know the Creator of all things.  We can trust Jesus with our life for we belong to Him for eternity.
