Today's Good News

MARCH 6 – HATE

3/6              Luke 11:53-54

As Jesus finished speaking, the Pharisees and teachers of religious law were furious. From that time on they grilled him with many hostile questions, 54 trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him.

HATE

Hate blinds us. Don’t let hate overcome you. It will make you foolish and sometimes will lead us into evil. Jesus said for us to love one another.

MARCH 5 – WE

3/5              Luke 11:50-52

“And you of this generation will be held responsible for the murder of all God’s prophets from the creation of the world — 51 from the murder of Abel to the murder of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, it will surely be charged against you.” 52 “How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.”

WE

We name the name of Jesus as our Lord and Savior. If we don’t share what wondrous riches and grace that the Father has bestowed upon us in Jesus we will of all people be most remiss. Tell about what the Lord is doing in your life.

March 4 – KILL

3/4 Luke 11:47-49
How terrible it will be for you! For you build tombs for the very prophets your ancestors killed long ago. 48 Murderers! You agree with your ancestors that what they did was right. You would have done the same yourselves. 49 This is what God in his wisdom said about you: ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill some and persecute the others.'”
KILL
The religious wanted to kill anyone that disagreed with them. They wanted to kill Jesus. They didn’t believe HE was creator and Lord and yet God proved that in so many ways including healing the sick and raising the dead, making the blind see and speaking with a Word of authority. You can’t fix stupid.

MARCH 3 – RELIGION

3/3 Luke 11:45-46
“Teacher,” said an expert in religious law, “you have insulted us, too, in what you just said.” 46 “Yes,” said Jesus, “how terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you crush people beneath impossible religious demands, and you never lift a finger to help ease the burden.

RELIGION
Religion is self-development. Christianity is Christ promotion and development. Follow God’s Word, do what He says and surrender yourself to His will. You belong to Jesus.

MARCH 2 – UNHAPPY

3/2 Luke 11:44
Yes, how terrible it will be for you. For you are like hidden graves in a field. People walk over them without knowing the corruption they are stepping on.”

UNHAPPY
The Lord is unhappy when we market our Christian faith as though we were trying to sell a product. Jesus calls us to pick up our cross and die to self with Him everyday. We keep our focus on Jesus and let Him get all the glory. We live our life with His call in mind and His service as part of our DNA. Jesus enables us to live and work in a desperately evil society and calls us to be salt and light and to love one another.

MARCH 1 – HUMBLE

3/1 Luke 11:43
“How terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For how you love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the respectful greetings from everyone as you walk through the markets!

HUMBLE
We seek to serve the Lord. We seek to know Him better. We are willing to do our service quietly without fanfare. This pleases the Lord.

FEBRUARY 28 – OUTWARD

2/28 Luke 11:37-42
As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a meal. So he went in and took his place at the table. 38 His host was amazed to see that he sat down to eat without first performing the ceremonial washing required by Jewish custom. 39 Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are still filthy — full of greed and wickedness! 40 Fools! Didn’t God make the inside as well as the outside? 41 So give to the needy what you greedily possess, and you will be clean all over.” 42 “But how terrible it will be for you Pharisees! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you completely forget about justice and the love of God. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things.”

OUTWARD
It’s the heart. If our heart is right with Jesus we will be right with others. Jesus loves people. Love the ones near you because Jesus loves you.

FEBRUARY 27 – LIGHT

2/27 Luke 11:36
If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight is shining on you.”

LIGHT
If you are filled with Jesus it will show. If you are committed to obeying the Lord it will show. You cannot hide the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit as you live your life submitted to the Savior.

FEBRUARY 26 – JESUS

2/26 Luke 11:33-35
“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, it is put on a lampstand to give light to all who enter the room. 34 Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. 35 Make sure that the light you think you have is not really darkness.

JESUS
Stay focused on Jesus. You won’t have to worry about darkness if your eyes are on the Son. Bless this day. Bless the Lord. Bless His Holy Name.

FEBRUARY 25 – TRUTH

2/25 Luke 11:31-32
“The queen of Sheba will rise up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, because she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And now someone greater than Solomon is here — and you refuse to listen to him. 32 The people of Nineveh, too, will rise up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. And now someone greater than Jonah is here — and you refuse to repent.”

TRUTH
We have the real truth in Jesus. We can depend on what He says. The world is looking for things that agree with it. It is not interested in the things of God instead it chooses simple reflections. The world avoids truth. We hold the truth in our heart and mind and will be with Him when we die.
