04/15          1 Peter 1:20 

God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake. 

CARES

God cares for you.  No matter what you have done, how evil you have been, God cares for you.  Jesus shed His blood for you.  However brutal your life or you have been God is seeking you, giving you an opportunity to become a part of His family.  Jesus loves you. 

04/14          1 Peter 1:18-19 

For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. 19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. 

BLOOD

Christ paid the price for our sin by His own blood which was shed for our redemption.  We have been bought with a price and the price was the life of Jesus Christ.  What a brutal death.  What a heinous murder.  Jesus loves you.

04/13          1 Peter 1:17 

And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time here as “temporary residents.” 

DO

We don’t impress God.  We say things and promise things that we never do.  That gets us no points with the Father.  Look to what you do.  Are you doing things God’s way or your way.  Surrender to Him.  Let Jesus guide you in the right way. 

04/12          1 Peter 1:16 

For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.” 

HOLY

We are set apart for the Lord. We are called to live a life under His control.  He calls us to rejoice in all things.  We are to care for the poor, for widows and children.  We are to pray for those that hate us. 

04/11          1 Peter 1:14-15 

So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 

NOW

Now we are called to obedience.  We know Him and we know what we should do therefore we must be about the Lord’s business.  His business is seeking and saving the Lost.  Our business is simple to share the Good News-Jesus is looking for the Lost.  Tell the story of our own salvation.  Jesus loves you. 

04/10          1 Peter 1:13 

So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 

ABLE

Jesus is able to save you.  He will bring you into the Family of God and His salvation is forever.  You will never again be alone.  Christ is with you.  He will enable you to deal with the life you are living. 

04/09          1 Peter 1:12

12 They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.

AMAZING

It is amazing what the Lord has done-He is seeking and saving the lost.  Come to Jesus. If you don’t know Him He is looking for you.  If you know Him He has found you and is working for your best good.  Jesus is Lord. 

04/08          1 Peter 1:11

11 They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward. 

TRUTH

The Lord has told us truth in His Word.  We know what He wants and we know how much He cares.  Trust the Lord and His truth and stand in Him as you face the harshness and buffeting of daily life.

04/07          1 Peter 1:9-10 

The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. 10 This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. 

LIKE

Life like God.  Salvation gives us entre to eternal life and that is life like God’s life.  We will see Jesus face to face.  No more tears.  No sorrow.  No sadness.  What an amazing thought.  But as great as that is it is even greater that we become a member of God’s family right now.  We become a part of what He is doing in the world immediately.  Are you a member of God’s family?

04/06          1 Peter 1:8 

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 

REJOICE

We are called to rejoice because the victory is won.  We are assured a position with the Lord.  We have Jesus as and intecessor and as a partner although we are junior partners at best.  He loves us and we love Him but our love is based on our faith.  Rejoice because He first loved you.
