Fear Of The Lord Means Pursuing Wisdom

  1. Fear Of The Lord Means Pursuing Wisdom

Proverbs 9:10 — “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.”

Colossians 2:3 — “In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

James 1:5 — “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.”

Wisdom begins when man stops trusting himself above God. Reverence opens the door to understanding because it humbles the heart. Proud people may gather information, but wisdom belongs to those who bow before the Lord. Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God.

• Reverence corrects human pride.
• Wisdom grows through humility.
• Fear teaches dependence upon God.

What this means:
• Human wisdom is limited.
• Pride blinds spiritual understanding.
• Christ is the source of truth.
• Reverence produces sound judgment.

Daily walk:
• Seek God’s wisdom before decisions.
• Receive biblical correction humbly.
• Study Scripture with a teachable heart.
