Fear Of The Lord Means Loving God Deeply

  1. Fear Of The Lord Means Loving God Deeply

Deuteronomy 10:12 — “To love Him…”

Psalm 130:4 — “But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.”

Matthew 22:37 — “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart.”

Biblical fear and biblical love belong together. The more we see God’s holiness, the more amazing His mercy becomes. The cross teaches us this truth. Jesus died because sin is terrible, but He died because His love is immeasurable. Fear without love becomes despair, and love without fear becomes shallow and careless.

• Forgiveness deepens reverence.
• The cross reveals both holiness and mercy.
• Real love for God produces obedience.

What this means:
• God’s love should never make us casual about sin.
• Salvation should fill us with awe.
• Reverence increases affection for Christ.
• Worship flows from grateful hearts.

Daily walk:
• Meditate daily on the cross of Christ.
• Thank God often for His mercy.
• Refuse to treat grace lightly.
