SEPTEMBER 16 – WAIT

09/16              2 Peter 1:9

But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

WAIT
Wait upon the Lord.  Go to Him and confess your sin, your shortcomings and your failure to spend the time it would take for you to grow.  Change.  Then wait upon the Lord and He will restart your spiritual growth.

SEPTEMBER 15 – GROWTH

09/15              2 Peter 1:8

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

GROWTH

Growth is a process.  We are human and it takes seeing, hearing and working out spiritual things for us to grow.  Obedience is also a key element.  When I develop a commitment to doing the next right thing it changes everything for me related to spiritual growth.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 14 – RESPOND

09/14              2 Peter 1:5-7

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. RESPOND
Respond to the Lord.  Spend time in reading His Word, praying and doing those things that He calls us to do.  Put your faith to work.  Change.  The Lord will guide you in the way you should go but we have to be in motion to be guided.

SEPTEMBER 13 – SET

09/13              2 Peter 1:4

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

SET

His promises set us for living a victorious life.  We are no longer in bondage to sin.  Jesus is Lord and in Him we win.  The Lord is good and He is able to deal with our life.

SEPTEMBER 12 – CALLED

09/12              2 Peter 1:3

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

CALLED
We are called of God.  Have you answered that call?  Listen to Him.  He would that you walk in Him every moment, of every hour of every day.  Spend time with Him.  Pray without ceasing.  Let your time with Him begin to mold you and shape you.

SEPTEMBER 11 – GROW

09/11              2 Peter 1:2

May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.

You need to grow in knowledge of the Jesus.  He is the One who changes everything.  He gives you power to live your life.  He created you and He knows all about you.  Trust in the Lord.  Receive His grace and peace as you get to know Him.  Spend time with Him.  Read your Bible.  The Holy Spirit will teach you about our Lord and Savior Jesus.  He is God.  He is Lord.  Know Him.

SEPTEMBER 10 – GOD

09/10              2 Peter 1:1

1 This letter is from Simon Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

GOD

Jesus is God.  He isn’t just a good man, a caring angel or one who has your best interest at heart-He is God.  He is God, He is our Savior, He is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 9 – CONFESS

09/09              Psalm 66:18-20

If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 19 But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. 20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

CONFESS

Confess your sin.  This includes turning away from your sin and ordering your steps to follow the Lord.  He listens to you.  He knows your name and everything about you.  His love for you is eternal.  The Lord is good and He will never leave you.

SEPTEMBER 8 – ATTITUDE

09/08              Psalm 66:16-17

Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. 17 For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke.

ATTITUDE
Turn to the Lord in need with an attitude of gratitude for what He has done and what He will do.  You will be amazed how much different things become when you live with absolute certainty your Father is taking care of you.  The Lord is good all the time.  All the time the Lord is good.

SEPTEMBER 7 – DEVOTION

09/07          Psalm 66:13-15

Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you— 14 yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble. 15 That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude

DEVOTION
We want to develop a daily devotion to the Lord. We want to think about Him every day, every hour and every moment. The Lord is good and worthy of all of our praise. Let us have a devotion to Him that becomes a daily reality in our life. Pray without ceasing. Spend time with Jesus.
