JULY 28 – SERVANT

07/28          Colossians 4:12-13

Epaphras, from your city, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you his greetings. He always prays earnestly for you, asking God to make you strong and perfect, fully confident of the whole will of God. 13 I can assure you that he has agonized for you and also for the Christians in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

SERVANT

We are called to be a servant. A servant labors in prayer to the Father for his friends and leaders. Pray for us. Pray for one another. Pray.

JULY 27 – WELCOME

07/27          Colossians 4:10-11

Aristarchus, who is in prison with me, sends you his greetings, and so does Mark, Barnabas’s cousin. And as you were instructed before, make Mark welcome if he comes your way. 11 Jesus (the one we call Justus) also sends his greetings. These are the only Jewish Christians among my co-workers; they are working with me here for the Kingdom of God. And what a comfort they have been!

WELCOME

We are strangers in this world. Therefore we need to practice hospitality and learn the responsibility we have to welcome strangers to our community and to our home. People are hurting. We have Jesus. Let Jesus use us to repair the hurt in the world.

JULY 26 – HELP

07/26          Colossians 4:7-9

Tychicus, a much loved brother, will tell you how I am getting along. He is a faithful helper who serves the Lord with me. 8 I have sent him on this special trip to let you know how we are doing and to encourage you. 9 I am also sending Onesimus, a faithful and much loved brother, one of your own people. He and Tychicus will give you all the latest news.

HELP

Be a helper and help the Lord. Listen to Him, let His Word sink deeply into your heart and He, the Lord, will go ahead of you to plant peace and joy. Be ready for Jesus is coming back.

JULY 25 – WISE

07/25          Colossians 4:5-6

Live wisely among those who are not Christians, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone.

WISE

Jesus calls us to be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove. Care for people, do the next right thing and never forget that Jesus died for you.

JULY 24 – IMPORTANT

07/24          Colossians 4:4

Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.

IMPORTANT

We need to think about the Lord. We need to let Him put his words in our heart. Pray that the Gospel will be proclaimed. Pray that you will be faithful in proclaiming the Gospel.

JULY 23 – PRAY

07/23          Colossians 4:3

Don’t forget to pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to preach about his secret plan — that Christ is also for you Gentiles. That is why I am here in chains.

PRAY

Pray for us. Pray for one another. It is important that we pray for in our conversation with the Lord we discover His wisdom, mercy, peace and understanding. Jesus is Lord.

JULY 22 – DEVOTION

07/22          Colossians 4:1-2

1 You slave owners must be just and fair to your slaves. Remember that you also have a Master — in heaven. 2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

DEVOTION
Jesus saves us from ourselves. We are no longer at the mercy of the world. Our slavery to sin has been destroyed. Therefore, we are called into a constant communication with the Lord Jesus. Spend time with Him. Think about Jesus and as you do remember to maintain a thankful heart because Jesus is Lord.

JULY 21 – FOCUS

07/21          Colossians 3:25
But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites who can get away with evil.

FOCUS

We must focus our mind and hearts on Jesus. If we lean on our own understanding interpreting our life by the events of each day we will go in the wrong direction. We love the Lord and are called to let Him lead, guide and direct us. He will give us the wisdom we need for living.

JULY 20 – MASTER

07/20          Colossians 3:24

Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ.

MASTER
We are not in charge, Jesus is. We don’t call the shots, Jesus does. When we get out of sync in our life we must stop and see who is in charge. When we are in charge everything goes crazy. When Jesus is in charge love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness rule.

JULY 19 – FORGET

07/19          Colossians 3:23

Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

FORGET

Forget the mean, evil and wicked things people do to you. Pray for them. Forgive them. The Lord will honor you as you live a life of reconciliation. Love the Lord and as a result of your love for the Lord love the people in your life especially your enemies.
