07/19 2 John 1:6
Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.
YOU
God has not called you to check others, to screen others, to abuse others nor has he called you to judge others. He has called you to love others. Love one another. He is looking at you to be His best servant. That requires that you love people.
07/18 2 John 1:5
I am writing to remind you, dear friends, that we should love one another. This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning.
PEOPLE
People count with Jesus. People are the only eternal things we will know. Spend your time caring for people and you will discover the presence of the Lord leading you. Love one another.
07/17 2 John 1:3-4
Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love. 4 How happy I was to meet some of your children and find them living according to the truth, just as the Father commanded.
VICTORY
There is victory in Jesus. Without Jesus it doesn’t matter because we can only win with His leadership.
07/16 2 John 1:1-2
This letter is from John, the elder. I am writing to the chosen lady and to her children, whom I love in the truth—as does everyone else who knows the truth 2 because the truth lives in us and will be with us forever.
CHURCH
The church is the Bride of Christ. It is the church where Jesus calls us to be effective in the World. Together with the other saints in the church we can accomplish much. But without Jesus and His leadership we will accomplish nothing for the Kingdom. Jesus is Lord.
07/15 1 John 5:20-21
And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. 21 Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.
EGO
How are you handling your ego? We tend to be egocentric beings, always focused on our needs, our thoughts, and only after all we want and have are met God’s thoughts. He clearly says that all of us can have a good relationship with the Father through Jesus. Our salvation is a gift so that none can boast. Put Jesus first and everything else will be in the right place.
07/14 1 John 5:19
We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.
YES
Yes the world is under the totalitarian influence and control of the Evil One. If I follow Jesus I will not follow the world. Follow Jesus and He will give you His wisdom and grace to deal with your daily difficult life.
07/13 1 John 5:18
We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.
STOP
Stop sinning. Stop ignoring God. Do pray. Do spend time with Jesus. Do repent. Simple. It’s a choice. Do the next right thing.
07/12 1 John 5:16-17
If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it. 17 All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death.
PRAY
The key is that we pray. Pray for people. Pray for the work of the church. Pray for family, neighbors, friends and that the lost come to Jesus. Pray. It is important that we talk with our Father. Pray.
07/11 1 John 5:14-15
And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
HEARS
We lead lives of quiet desperation. The Lord hears everything we think and say and He knows everything we do. Turn control of your life over to Him and He will always be with you. When You speak to Him He will listen and He will give us what we ask for. Jesus loves you.
07/10 1 John 5:13
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
KNOW
Jesus never leaves us by ourselves, He is with us. He wants us to know that our faith is certain. His word guides us to Him and assures us of the things we can know for certain. When we belong to Jesus we know it.
