OCTOBER 17 – CHRIST

10/17          Ephesians 5:15

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.

CHRIST

When we seek to please Jesus by the way we live we will find that we are living right.  Spend time in His Word and time with Him and He will direct your path every moment of every day.  Lord hear my prayer: I want to serve you.  Praise the name of the Lord.

OCTOBER 16 – SIMPLE

10/16          Ephesians 5:10-14

Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.  11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.  13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

SIMPLE

The Christ life is simple.  Obey the Lord.  Walk away from the “I Know What” crowd that assumes every thought they have is a “good” thought.  Let the Holy Spirit and the Word of God guide you and do not fall prey to the “if it’s done in love it must be right.”  You and I are charged with walking away.  The Lord will give us the wisdom to know what to walk away from.

OCTOBER 15 – BE

10/15          Ephesians 5:8-9

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!  9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

BE
Be on your guard.  Be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Be faithful to follow what the Lord has said.  Be an obedient child of God.

OCTOBER 14 – DEAD

10/14          Ephesians 5:6-7

Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.  7 Don’t participate in the things these people do.

DEAD

Remember that those that are lost are dead in their trespasses and sin.  Therefore do not follow their edicts nor the way that they live.  Listen to the commands of the Father and obey Him.  He loves obedience more than sacrifice.  Follow Jesus.

OCTOBER 13 – PERSONAL

10/13          Ephesians 5:3-5

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.  4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.  5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

PERSONAL

This is a personal mandate.  We are to be holy and to lead holy lives.  Therefore the things that the world does, that the world says is okay, isn’t okay in the life of a Holy Person.  We are saved and we are called to lead a life that is like God’s life, pure and holy.  Simple call to be different than the world.

OCTOBER 12 – ACCENTUATE

10/12          Ephesians 5:

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

ACCENTUATE

Accentuate the positive in your life every day.  Thank God for His salvation.  Thank Him for listening to you.  Thank Him for the breath of life.  The things we can thank Him for are many, many, many.  In fact we can spend our whole day thanking Him and never exhaust the list of things we are thankful for right now.  Thank you Lord, thank you.

OCTOBER 11 – BELONG

10/11          Ephesians 5:1

1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.

BELONG

We belong.  We belong in the Father’s council chambers.  We belong to the group that the Lord is intimately involved with minute of each day: His Children.  We belong to the Lord forever and nothing can separate us from Him.

OCTOBER 10 – FORGIVE

10/10          Ephesians 4:30-32

And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.  31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

FORGIVE

A critical part of the normal Christian life is learning to forgive quickly, completely and to move forward without bringing it back up.  To forgive is like God.  We are surrendered to grow into Christ likeness therefore we are learning to forgive.

OCTOBER 9 – POSITIVE

10/09          Ephesians 4:26-29

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil. 28 If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.  29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

POSITIVE

We can have confidence about our life.  We need to stop the negativity.  The call for us is to be positive, encouraging and careful with what we say.  What you think is who you are.  Set a guard over our mouths Father.  Praise the Lord.

OCTOBER 8 – TRUTH

10/08         Ephesians 4:24-25

Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. 25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.

TRUTH

The call is for us to be truth tellers.  If you think of a lie don’t tell it.  Tell the truth.  That’s simple.  Tell the truth.  Tell the truth.  Stop lying.  Tell the truth.
