NOVEMBER 12 – LORD

11/12 Luke 9:37-42
The next day, after they had come down the mountain, a huge crowd met Jesus. 38 A man in the crowd called out to him, “Teacher, look at my boy, who is my only son. 39 An evil spirit keeps seizing him, making him scream. It throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It is always hitting and injuring him. It hardly ever leaves him alone. 40 I begged your disciples to cast the spirit out, but they couldn’t do it.” 41 “You stubborn, faithless people,” Jesus said, “how long must I be with you and put up with you? Bring him here.” 42 As the boy came forward, the demon knocked him to the ground and threw him into a violent convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the evil spirit and healed the boy. Then he gave him back to his father.
LORD
Evil spirits know who Jesus is and tremble. Believers’ know who Jesus is and bow before Him-not my way Lord, your way. Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.

NOVEMBER 11 – AMAZING

11/11 Luke 9:34-36
But even as he was saying this, a cloud came over them; and terror gripped them as it covered them. 35 Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.” 36 When the voice died away, Jesus was there alone. They didn’t tell anyone what they had seen until long after this happened.
AMAZING
An encounter with the Living Lord Jesus is an amazing experience. The secular mind rationalizes these encounters away. My prayer for you is that every-time you encounter Jesus you will not get caught up in rational lies but instead will follow Him and do what He says.

NOVEMBER 10 – QUIET

11/10 Luke 9:32-33
Peter and the others were very drowsy and had fallen asleep. Now they woke up and saw Jesus’ glory and the two men standing with him. 33 As Moses and Elijah were starting to leave, Peter, not even knowing what he was saying, blurted out, “Master, this is wonderful! We will make three shrines — one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
QUIET
Peter was seldom right but never in doubt. He should have been in awe at the event taking place in his presence but he seized the moment and launched out into his comments. Where are you? Do you desperately need Jesus to fix your problem? Let Jesus have what you are struggling with and He will work thru your crisis and bring you out safe on the other side.

NOVEMBER 9 – HEAVEN

11/09 Luke 9:28-31
About eight days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John to a mountain to pray. 29 And as he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothing became dazzling white. 30 Then two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared and began talking with Jesus. 31 They were glorious to see. And they were speaking of how he was about to fulfill God’s plan by dying in Jerusalem.
HEAVEN
Heaven is going to be a great place. Think about the people that will be there. We will stand face to face with Jesus and them one day. Praise the Lord for the future He has stored up for us. Praise the Lord for loving us. Jesus is Lord.

NOVEMBER 8 – HOW

11/08 Luke 9:25-27
And how do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose or forfeit your own soul in the process? 26 If a person is ashamed of me and my message, I, the Son of Man, will be ashamed of that person when I return in my glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels. 27 And I assure you that some of you standing here right now will not die before you see the Kingdom of God.”
HOW
I am seeking to know Jesus every day. I give Him my surrender and He gives me my marching orders. The Lord is good and He is faithful. I accept His grace and strive to do the next right thing. One thing that is always right is to tell everyone you meet about Jesus. Lord I am not ashamed of you. Please do not be ashamed about me.

NOVEMBER 7 – YOU?

11/07 Luke 9:23-24
Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life.
YOU?
Do you want to follow Jesus? Give your life to Him and He will give you real life, life like the Father’s. Follow Jesus and He will change your life from dead end to unending.

NOVEMBER 6 – KNEW

11/06 Luke 9:21-22
Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about this. 22 “For I, the Son of Man, must suffer many terrible things,” he said. “I will be rejected by the leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. I will be killed, but three days later I will be raised from the dead.”
KNEW
Jesus knew what He was doing. He knew He would sacrifice His life for us. The just for the unjust and while we were dead in our trespasses and sin Christ died for you and me. Praise the Lord. Jesus paid it all. Jesus loves you.

NOVEMBER 5 – GOD

11/05 Luke 9:18-20
One day as Jesus was alone, praying, he came over to his disciples and asked them, “Who do people say I am?” 19 “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other ancient prophets risen from the dead.” 20 Then he asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God!”
GOD
Jesus is God. He came to Earth and experienced the kind of life that we experienced yet He did not sin. His faith in the Father was complete. When we walk with Jesus we are walking with God. Jesus is Lord and He is Lord of all.

NOVEMBER 4 – SUCCESS

11/04 Luke 9:14
For there were about five thousand men there. “Just tell them to sit down on the ground in groups of about fifty each,” Jesus replied. 15 So the people all sat down. 16 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and asked God’s blessing on the food. Breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples to give to the people. 17 They all ate as much as they wanted, and they picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!
SUCCESS
How do you define success? Notice that here Jesus feeds 5,000 men plus women and children. He did that by bringing honor to God and not man. He fed people. His concern was for people. Jesus died for people. God’s definition of success includes taking care of people. Does your definition of success include taking care of people?

NOVEMBER 3 – FEAR

11/03 Luke 9:12-13
Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this deserted place.” 13 But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “Impossible!” they protested. “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish. Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”
FEAR
We are fearful creatures. We cannot see how something will work out and our first thoughts are thoughts of fear. We can’t work. We can’t get well. We don’t have this or that. All of these things strike fear in our heart. It doesn’t matter whether the issue is real or imagined the fear is certainly real. Jesus calls us to a life of trust. I will trust the Lord and “walk thru the valley of the shadow of death” and fear no evil. Our Lord is good and He is seeking our best good. Trust Him and fear not.
