AUGUST 2 – YOU

08/02          2 Chronicles 7:14

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

YOU

Only you can ask the Lord to forgive your sin. Only you can humble yourself. Real change begins at the point of gratitude and humility. Set aside your pride for you are only a vapor, here a short while and then gone. Jesus is seeking the best for your life. You seek Him.

AUGUST 1 – TALK

08/01          1 Kings 8:28

Nevertheless, listen to my prayer and my plea, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is making to you today.

TALK

Talk to the Lord. He is waiting to hear from you. He wants you to be involved with Him in every aspect of your life. Call upon Him and HE will respond to you.

JULY 31 – REMEMBER

07/31          Colossians 4:18

Here is my greeting in my own handwriting — PAUL. Remember my chains. May the grace of God be with you.

REMEMBER
Remember you are a servant. Remember Jesus loves you. Live your life, do your work and know that the Lord is at work in you-He will never leave you-you are of utmost importance to Him. Jesus loves you.

JULY 30 – CARRYOUT

07/30          Colossians 4:16-17

After you have read this letter, pass it on to the church at Laodicea so they can read it, too. And you should read the letter I wrote to them. 17 And say to Archippus, “Be sure to carry out the work the Lord gave you.”

CARRYOUT

Carryout the work that the Father has assigned you with the full knowledge that He has given you a job that is of prime importance in the kingdom. You do HIS work. Be surrendered to His wisdom, mercy and grace for He is Lord. Do the work. Be a servant.

JULY 29 – CHURCH

07/29          Colossians 4:14-15

Dear Doctor Luke sends his greetings, and so does Demas. 15 Please give my greetings to our Christian brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and those who meet in her house.

CHURCH

We are the church. The church belongs to Jesus. We belong to one another. It is of primary importance that we love one another. Do for others as if you are doing for yourself fully aware that we are the hands and feet of Jesus.

JULY 28 – SERVANT

07/28          Colossians 4:12-13

Epaphras, from your city, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you his greetings. He always prays earnestly for you, asking God to make you strong and perfect, fully confident of the whole will of God. 13 I can assure you that he has agonized for you and also for the Christians in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

SERVANT

We are called to be a servant. A servant labors in prayer to the Father for his friends and leaders. Pray for us. Pray for one another. Pray.

JULY 27 – WELCOME

07/27          Colossians 4:10-11

Aristarchus, who is in prison with me, sends you his greetings, and so does Mark, Barnabas’s cousin. And as you were instructed before, make Mark welcome if he comes your way. 11 Jesus (the one we call Justus) also sends his greetings. These are the only Jewish Christians among my co-workers; they are working with me here for the Kingdom of God. And what a comfort they have been!

WELCOME

We are strangers in this world. Therefore we need to practice hospitality and learn the responsibility we have to welcome strangers to our community and to our home. People are hurting. We have Jesus. Let Jesus use us to repair the hurt in the world.

JULY 26 – HELP

07/26          Colossians 4:7-9

Tychicus, a much loved brother, will tell you how I am getting along. He is a faithful helper who serves the Lord with me. 8 I have sent him on this special trip to let you know how we are doing and to encourage you. 9 I am also sending Onesimus, a faithful and much loved brother, one of your own people. He and Tychicus will give you all the latest news.

HELP

Be a helper and help the Lord. Listen to Him, let His Word sink deeply into your heart and He, the Lord, will go ahead of you to plant peace and joy. Be ready for Jesus is coming back.

JULY 25 – WISE

07/25          Colossians 4:5-6

Live wisely among those who are not Christians, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone.

WISE

Jesus calls us to be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove. Care for people, do the next right thing and never forget that Jesus died for you.

JULY 24 – IMPORTANT

07/24          Colossians 4:4

Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.

IMPORTANT

We need to think about the Lord. We need to let Him put his words in our heart. Pray that the Gospel will be proclaimed. Pray that you will be faithful in proclaiming the Gospel.
