SEPTEMBER 24 – PRAISE

09/24              Psalm 68:3-4

But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. 4 Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord— rejoice in his presence!

PRAISE
PRAISE the Lord.  Praise Him in your victory and in your defeat.  Praise Him with every breath you have.  Praise the Lord.  Praise Him in every circumstance for even though we might not see it we are living in victory.  Praise the Lord.

SEPTEMBER 23 – TRUST

09/23              Psalm 68:1-2

1 Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives. 2 Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God.

TRUST

We face challenges every day of our life.  The Lord will go ahead of you and deal with those challenges.  He will equip you to stand, enable you to overcome or give you the grace you need to endure.  He will not leave you alone.  Trust the Lord and He will do it.

SEPTEMBER 22 – LISTEN

09/22              2 Peter 1:20-21

Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, 21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

LISTEN

Listen to the Lord Jesus.  He will speak to you.  He will do it in a way that is consistent with the Word, that comes from Him to you and it is a Word that will dynamically equip you to obey the Father.  Listen as you seek His face and He will guide you.

SEPTEMBER 21 – WORD

09/21              2 Peter 1:18-19

We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts.

WORD

The Lord God has provided a written revelation for us to live life by and we should do our best to know it.  Read the Word.  Study the Word.  Pray God’s Word as you spend time with Him.

SEPTEMBER 20 – JOY

09/20              2 Peter 1:16-17

For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes 17 when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

JOY

Obedience was one of the key elements of Jesus earthly ministry.  His obedience gave the Father great joy.  We bring great joy to the Father when we obey Him.  Look at your life.  Where do you need to improve your obedience?  Take that to Jesus in prayer and ask Him to help you obey Him.

SEPTEMBER 19 – REMEMBER

09/19              2 Peter 1:13-15

And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live. 14 For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life, 15 so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.

REMEMBER

Remember what Jesus has done for you.  Remember that He is alive and interceding for you.  Remember that Jesus gives you light and life for living.  We are eternal creatures on mission for the Father and Jesus is our elder brother.  For by grace are you saved, it is a gift of God so that no one can boast.

SEPTEMBER 18 – FIRM

09/18              2 Peter 1:12

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.

FIRM

We know the truth and we stand firm in the truth but it always helps to be reminded of who we are whose we are.  Keep the Son in your eyes.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 17 – WORK

09/17              2 Peter 1:10-11

So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. 11 Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

WORK

It takes real work to control yourself.  We can see the things around us, the mountains erupting, the wind blowing but we cannot see the Spirit of God at work in our heart and in our life.  Trust the Lord.  Listen to His Spirit within you and bend your knee in submission and do what He says.  The Lord will not fail you nor forsake you.  Jesus loves you.

SEPTEMBER 16 – WAIT

09/16              2 Peter 1:9

But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

WAIT
Wait upon the Lord.  Go to Him and confess your sin, your shortcomings and your failure to spend the time it would take for you to grow.  Change.  Then wait upon the Lord and He will restart your spiritual growth.

SEPTEMBER 15 – GROWTH

09/15              2 Peter 1:8

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

GROWTH

Growth is a process.  We are human and it takes seeing, hearing and working out spiritual things for us to grow.  Obedience is also a key element.  When I develop a commitment to doing the next right thing it changes everything for me related to spiritual growth.  Jesus is Lord.
