OCTOBER 22 – OBEDIENCE

10/22               Ephesians 6:1

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.  2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”

OBEDIENCE

The Lord loves obedience more than sacrifice.  Learn to obey the Lord in all things not just the things that are easy for us to obey.  Do what the Lord says.  Obey Him.

OCTOBER 21 – LOVE

10/21               Ephesians 5:29-33

No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30 And we are members of his body. 31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” 32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

LOVE

We want to be usable and useful in the Kingdom of God.  Therefore, we will learn to love one another.  As we learn to love it will become part of our nature.  Whatever someone does to me I will love them.  The standard for this love is “as I love myself.”  This requires significant attention to the way I live and think and act.  Love one another as Jesus loved me-while we were still dead in our trespasses and sin Christ died for us.

OCTOBER 20 – LOVE

10/20               Ephesians 5:27-28

He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.

LOVE

God is love.  He loves us.  He calls us to love one another.  It is important.  Don’t miss it.  Love one another.

OCTOBER 19 – GRATITUDE

10/19               Ephesians 5:20-26

And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  21 And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. 24 As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. 25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.

GRATITUDE

An attitude of gratitude overcomes a mountain of hardship.  Listen to the Lord as He speaks to you.  He will tell you of His deep love for you.  Jesus is on your side.  Let Him equip you and strengthen you to face the day.

OCTOBER 18 – TODAY

10/18               Ephesians 5:16-19

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.

TODAY

Today is the opportunity for you to grow in Christ likeness.  Pray, focus, surrender your mind and your heart to Jesus.  He will guide you in the right thing to do.

OCTOBER 17 – WISE

10/17               Ephesians 5:15

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.

WISE

Jesus in our life makes us wise.  He brings the light so that we can see the difference between the world and the way of God.  He is Lord.  He equips us.  He connects us with God’s power and guides us to use that power to lead a Godly life.

OCTOBER 16 – JESUS

10/16               Ephesians 5:10-14

Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.  11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,  14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

JESUS

Jesus knows our sorrow.  He feels our pain.  He stands with us as we strive to survive.  The Lord Jesus is concerned that we grow and glow with the power of God enabling us to be what He created us to be-proclaimers of the Gospel.  We are new creatures in Christ and in Him we are representatives of the Lord High God.  We can be more like Jesus day by day and we can do His work here on Earth.  Praise the Lord for His absolute and eternal love for us.

OCTOBER 15 – LIGHT

10/15               Ephesians 5:8-9

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

LIGHT

Jesus is the light.  He gives us the ability to see our sin and navigate to and with the Lord.  Spend time with Jesus.  Read the Bible.  Let His Words marinate in your soul.  He will give you the light you need to see your way to the Father each day.

OCTOBER 14 – LIFE

10/14               Ephesians 5:5-7

You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
6 Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.  7 Don’t participate in the things these people do.

LIFE

How we live matters.  How we live before a watching world matters.  It is important for us to let Jesus give us the wisdom, mercy, grace and understanding we need to live a Christ like life.  It takes time with Jesus to appropriate His strength into our life.  Today spend time with Jesus.  Let Him have control of your mind and your heart.

OCTOBER 13 – GRATITUDE

10/13               Ephesians 5:3-4

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. 4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.

GRATITUDE

We are called to have an attitude of gratitude.  Today, make a list of the things for which you are grateful.  Keep the list and think about it.  Jesus will help you add to the list.  An amazing experience for every one of us.
