05/11 1 Peter 2:13-14
13 For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, 14 or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.
DO
We are called to do the next right thing. Committ your life to doing that. Yes we follow the Lord and yes we do what He says and He says that we are to be good citizens wherever we are. Do the next right thing.
05/10 1 Peter 2:11-12
11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.
CAREFUL
We as children of Heaven are called to live that way in the World. We cannot be overwhelmed by the evil and choaos of the World. Be brave, be careful; and live confident, joyous lives, for Jesus lives in you.
05/09 1 Peter 2:10
10 “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
YOU
Today God’s Word is speaking directly to you. You belong to Jesus. Know it. Live it. Be the Word. Jesus is Lord.
05/08 1 Peter 2:9
9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
PEOPLE
We are not just any people, we are chosen of God in Christ. Whosoever will may come. When we choose Jesus we are Chosen of God in Christ. Choose Jesus. Trust Him. Walk in the light as He is light.
05/07 1 Peter 2:8
8 And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them.
SIN
All of mankind sins. All. Sin is choosing our way over God’s way. Sinners deny and despise Jesus. They are in rebellion against God.
05/06 1 Peter 2:7
7 Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.”
HONOR
God chooses whom and what He will honor. He has told us in His Word that He honors the Christ. Jesus is the Christ and He is most honored by God. Choose Jesus if you believe the Word of God. Trust in Him and only in Him.
05/05 1 Peter 2:6
As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
CHOSEN
Jesus is God’s everything. He was chosen before the foundation of the World. He is the honored Son of God. Trust in Jesus and you will never be disappointed.
05/04 1 Peter 2:5
And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.
LIFE
Your life counts. Jesus equips you to have a relationship with the perfect, almighty, eternal Father. The Holy Spirit power of God leads you in the Holy Way. Jesus is Lord-He is your Lord.
05/03 1 Peter 2:4
You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.
JESUS
Jesus was sent by the Father to save us from our sin. He is the Messiah, God and our salvation. He is the living embodiment of the unseen Lord. He represents God’s love sent to us. He is Lord. Rejoice for He is alive today and lives in us.
05/02 1 Peter 2:2-3
Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.
WORD
Read the Word of God-the Bible. Devour it as if the life you live depends upon it because it does. The Work of God in you is that you know the Word, and live the Word in your daily life. God’s Word is for life and living. Read the Word of God and remember it.
