05/27 1 Peter 3:13-14
Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.
REJOICE
Count the little things that bless you. Count the wonderfully good things that the Lord does for you. Rejoice in this day and know that He is good. He loves you and always has your best interests at heart.
05/26 1 Peter 3:12
The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil.”
FEAR
Fear the Lord. Trust in Him. Turn from evil and do not sin.
05/25 1 Peter 3:11
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
YOU
We talk a good game and call others to be more like Jesus. The admonition here is that you become more like Jesus. There are no grandchildren in the Kingdom nor are there any favorites. Be careful that you don’t lift up your good works as an excuse to not become more like Jesus.
05/24 1 Peter 3:10
For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.
RELAX
Relax in the Lord, let Him fight your fights for you. Trust in the Lord and do good. Jesus loves you and has appointed you to love those you are with. The Lord is holy and He calls us to become more like Jesus day by day. Rejoice and fear not for the Lord is in control.
05/23 1 Peter 3:9
Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.
DIFFERENT
We are different than the world. We love those that mistreat us. We pray for those that abuse us. Jesus is Lord. This world is passing away. Praise the name of the Lord for He is all and in all. Jesus is truly Lord, we believe that and live like He is.
05/22 1 Peter 3:8
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
PARTNERS
We are partners with Christ in His work in the world. He uses us to further the Gospel. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. We ALL have significant value and worth to the Lord and to each other. Love one another.
05/21 1 Peter 3:7
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
EQUAL
People run over this statement: men and women are equal. There are no favorites with God. There is no weaker sex. Men and women have equal roles in this world and are equally used of God to further His work in the world. Jesus is Lord. We are not.
05/20 1 Peter 3:5-6
This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands. 6 For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, and called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.
STAND
Stand firm on your faith in Jesus. Do not let the theology of the day distract you from His love and strength. The Lord is pleased when we let Him make us strong.
05/19 1 Peter 3:1-4
In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over 2 by observing your pure and reverent lives. 3 Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. 4 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
DAILY
We live now. It is important that moment by moment we are following the Lord. Read His Word. Let it marinate in your heart and do what the Lord says.
05/18 1 Peter 2:25
25 Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.
FOLLOW
Follow Jesus. Follow Him every minute of every day. One step at a time you follow Jesus. He is Lord and worthy of all of your devotion and praise.
