12. Fear Of The Lord Means Living With Humility

Proverbs 22:4 — “The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, honor and life.”

Isaiah 66:2 — “To this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.”

Philippians 2:5-8 — “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus…”

The fear of the Lord crushes pride. Reverence reminds us that God is Creator and we are dependent upon Him for everything. Pride competes with God for glory, but humility bows before Him.

Jesus humbled Himself completely. The fear of the Lord leads us into that same posture of surrender and dependence.

    • Pride weakens spiritual vision.
    • Humility keeps the heart teachable.
    • Reverence removes self-exaltation.

    What this means:
    • God opposes pride.
    • Humility attracts God’s favor.
    • Christ is our model of lowliness.
    • Reverence keeps us spiritually grounded.

    Daily walk:
    • Refuse to seek personal glory.
    • Thank God for every blessing.
    • Serve others quietly and sincerely.
