Fear Of The Lord Means Obeying God’s Word

  1. Fear Of The Lord Means Obeying God’s Word

Deuteronomy 10:13 — “Keep the LORD’S commandments…”

Ecclesiastes 12:13 — “Fear God and keep His commandments.”

John 14:15 — “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

The fear of the Lord takes Scripture seriously. Reverence teaches the believer that God’s commands are not burdens but protection and life. A heart that fears God does not argue with Scripture. It bows before it. Jesus did not save us to continue in rebellion but to walk in joyful obedience.

• Obedience reveals what the heart treasures.
• Reverence protects against compromise.
• Fear of God strengthens resistance to temptation.

What this means:
• God’s commands are wise and good.
• Obedience is evidence of genuine faith.
• Sin becomes serious when God becomes holy in our sight.
• Reverence protects spiritual health.

Daily walk:
• Read Scripture with a submissive spirit.
• Quickly confess sin when convicted.
• Choose obedience even when difficult.
