Blessing Of The Fear Of The Lord: Holiness

21. Blessing Of The Fear Of The Lord: Holiness

2 Corinthians 7:1 — “Perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

Proverbs 8:13 — “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil.”

The fear of the Lord changes our relationship with sin. A heart that reverences God cannot comfortably embrace what nailed Christ to the cross. Holy fear exposes compromise and strengthens the pursuit of purity. The closer we come to Jesus, the more clearly we see the ugliness of sin and the beauty of holiness.

    • Reverence exposes compromise.
    • Fear strengthens purity.
    • Holiness flows from seeing God rightly.

What this does in the life of a Christ follower:

    • Produces greater spiritual sensitivity.
    • Encourages repentance.
    • Deepens Christlikeness.

    How to develop this:

    • Confess sin quickly.
    • Avoid situations that feed temptation.
    • Pursue holiness intentionally.

    Prayer:

Holy Lord, cleanse my heart. Let me hate what dishonors You and love what pleases You. Make me increasingly like Christ and help me walk in purity before You each day. Amen.
