21.Love That Draws Us Near

James 4:8
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

God’s love is not distant—it invites. He does not stand far off waiting for perfection; He calls you near in your need. His love opens the way for fellowship, not just forgiveness.

In Christ, the barrier is removed. What once separated you has been dealt with at the cross, and now the call is simple: come near. God’s love is experienced most deeply not in striving, but in nearness.

  • Jesus made access to the Father possible.
  • God’s love invites relationship, not religion.
  • Nearness to God transforms the heart.

How to put this to work in my daily walk
Make time daily to come before God. Turn your heart toward Him in prayer and Scripture, not out of duty, but desire.

How can I grow in my love for God
Pursue His presence intentionally. Love grows in proximity.

Prayer
Father, thank You for inviting me near. You have opened the way for me to come into Your presence. Draw my heart toward You daily.

Jesus, remove every distraction that keeps me distant. Let me walk closely with You and find joy in Your presence.
