02        Love That Pursues

Luke 15:4
“What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?”

God’s love is not passive—it pursues. He does not wait for you to find your way back; He comes after you. The initiative of salvation belongs to Him. Before you ever sought Him, He was already seeking you.

This is the scandal of grace. God moves toward the wandering, not away from them. His love refuses to abandon what belongs to Him. And in Jesus, we see a Shepherd who searches until He finds.

  • Jesus is the Shepherd who seeks the lost.
  • God’s love initiates before we respond.
  • No distance cancels His pursuit.

How to put this to work in my daily walk
When you feel far from God, do not withdraw—turn. Recognize that His love is already moving toward you. Walk in repentance, knowing you are being pursued, not rejected.

How can I grow in my love for God
Join Him in His pursuit of others. As you love the lost, your heart aligns with His. Love grows when it participates in what God is doing.

Prayer
Father, thank You that You did not leave me in my wandering. You came after me when I could not come to You. Help me never forget the mercy that pursued me. Jesus, Shepherd of my soul, keep drawing me near. Let me hear Your voice above all others and follow You with a willing heart. Make me a reflection of Your pursuing love.
