23. Fear Of The Lord Means Loving Truth

Psalm 119:160 — “The sum of Your word is truth.”

John 17:17 — “Your word is truth.”

2 Thessalonians 2:10 — “They did not receive the love of the truth.”

The fear of the Lord creates a deep love for truth because God Himself is truth. Reverence refuses to twist Scripture to fit personal desires. A believer who fears God desires truth even when it confronts sin or exposes weakness.

Jesus never compromised truth to gain approval. Holy fear keeps believers anchored in God’s Word.

• Reverence produces doctrinal stability.
• Truth protects the soul from deception.
• Fear of God strengthens discernment.

What this means:
• Truth matters deeply to God.
• False teaching destroys spiritual health.
• God’s Word must guide our beliefs.
• Reverence strengthens conviction.

Daily walk:
• Compare teachings carefully with Scripture.
• Refuse compromise with biblical truth.
• Study God’s Word consistently.
