04/14               DENY SELFISH AMBITION

“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another more important than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3)
The cross crushes selfish ambition. Following Jesus means abandoning the pursuit of self-glory and embracing the humility He displayed. True discipleship values others, not as rivals but as people to serve, love, and lift.

  • Selfish ambition cannot coexist with the cross.
  • Humility is the posture of a true disciple.
  • Christ’s mindset becomes ours through surrender.

Poem – The Lower Way
I lay aside ambition,
shallow and loud,
choosing instead
the quiet path.

Your humility leads me,
stronger than pride,
shaping my heart
to serve.

Make me low
that I may lift others,
walking in the way
You walked.

Prayer
Lord, free me from selfish ambition. Make humility my daily posture and help me value others as You do. Shape my heart by the example of Christ.
