Today's Good News

JULY 20 – WORD

7/20                 Revelation 22:18-21

18 And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book. 20 He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! 21 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people.

WORD

Learn God’s Word.  Share God’s Word.  Be the Word in your daily life.  His Word is faithful and true and you would do well to live by it.

JULY 19 – WORK

7/19                 1 Corinthians 15:54-58

54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? ” 56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

WORK

Be about the Father’s business.  People need the Lord.  Tell everyone about your relationship with Jesus.  That is the story of the Gospel in us.  Love the Lord and love people-tell them about Jesus.

JULY 18 – ALIVE

7/18                 1 Corinthians 15:2-4

2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. 3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

ALIVE

Jesus is alive.  He lives today and will be with you always.  Believe in Jesus for He is the Good News.  He is Lord and He loves you.

JULY 17 – GOOD NEWS

7/17                 1 Corinthians 15:1

1 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it.

GOOD NEWS

God has made a way for you to be reconciled.  It is Jesus.  He is God’s everything.  Jesus is the Good News, the way the truth and the life.  Believe in Jesus and be saved.

JULY 16 – MIRACLE

7/16                 Luke 18:35-43

35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road. 36 When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by. 38 So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”  39 “Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 When Jesus heard him, he stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. As the man came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “I want to see!” 42 And Jesus said, “All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you.” 43 Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus, praising God. And all who saw it praised God, too.

MIRACLE

What do you want Jesus to do for you?  Tell Him.  Ask Him.  Let Him have your heart in surrender and He will do it.  The greatest miracle is forgiveness of our sin and making us whole again.  Believe and you will see.

JULY 15 – TRUTH

7/15                 Mark 4:30-34

30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth.  32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”  33 With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. 34 He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.

TRUTH

Jesus taught us with parables that communicated truth to the hearers.  Truth that is simple enough for a child to pick up and understand.  The truth is that we know what to do we just don’t want to do it.  Trust and obey.  Simple truth to live by.

JULY 14 – SERVING

7/14                 Ephesians 4:1-2

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

SERVING

I am serving the Lord.  Always.  There are no vacations, off-days or sick days.  Think about what you are doing.  Think about the people around you.  Everyone you meet is a prized creation of the Lord Almighty.  Love people.  Jesus died for people.  He loves you.

JULY 13 – BLESS

7/13                 Psalm 3:1-8

O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me. 2 So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Interlude 3 But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. 4 I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude 5 I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me. 6 I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. 7 Arise, O LORD ! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked! 8 Victory comes from you, O LORD . May you bless your people.

BLESS

Bless me Oh Lord, bless me and my family, my friends, my work and my time with YOU.  Bless me Lord as I seek to bless You by my obedience and faithfulness.  Bless me Oh Lord.

JULY 12 – CARES

7/12                 Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

CARES

The Lord cares for you.  He has you held tightly in His hands and He will not forget what you are struggling with and what you need.  Jesus is alive and He is alive in you.  The Lord’s plans for you are plans for good and not disaster.  Thank you Lord for your great love for us.

JULY 11 – ALONE

7/11                 Genesis 8:15-16

15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Leave the boat, all of you—you and your wife, and your sons and their wives.

ALONE

Noah had great faith.  Everything he knew before the flood had changed.  Now the Lord was pushing him out into a world that had been destroyed.  Lord I believe, help my unbelief.
