26. Warning About Losing The Fear Of The Lord: Saul Lost Reverence And Lost His Kingdom
1 Samuel 15:24 — “I feared the people and listened to their voice.”
Saul exchanged the fear of God for the fear of people. That exchange destroyed his leadership, weakened his obedience, and eventually cost him his kingdom. Whenever reverence fades, compromise grows.
• Fear of man destroys leadership.
• Partial obedience remains disobedience.
• Pride resists repentance.
What this does in the life of a Christ follower:
• Weakens conviction.
• Encourages compromise.
• Damages spiritual influence.
How to avoid this:
• Seek God’s approval above man’s.
• Obey God even when unpopular.
• Repent quickly when convicted.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, keep me from fearing people more than You. Give me courage to obey Your voice and protect me from compromise. Let my life be governed by reverence for You alone. Amen.
