September 16: Keep Yourselves in the Love of God

Scripture:
“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
— Jude 1:21 (NKJV)

Points:

  1. The love of God is constant, but we must stay near to it through faith.
  2. Keeping ourselves in God’s love means remaining in His Word and His will.
  3. God’s mercy renews us and anchors our hope in eternity.
  4. This command calls for spiritual attentiveness and intentional living.
  5. God’s love empowers endurance, purity, and joy.

Poem: Stay Close to Love

You love me still when I am cold.
You hold me even when I drift.
But I must choose to stay near You.
To guard the fire, to tend the flame.
To walk the road that love has built.

Your love is wide, yet I can roam.
I chase the world and feel the chill.
But when I turn, You draw me in.
You cover shame, restore delight.
You welcome back with mercy full.

To stay in love is not to coast.
It takes a heart that leans on You.
It listens when the world pulls loud.
It stays when doubt begins to speak.
It trusts when nothing else makes sense.

Your mercy keeps me every day.
It reminds me I belong to grace.
Though storms may come and trials grow,
Your love remains the anchor firm.
It pulls me home with steady hands.

So let me stay, not walk away.
Let nothing move me from Your side.
Let mercy mark my every thought.
Let love be where I make my life.
Let Jesus keep me close to Him.

Prayer:
Father, help me to remain in Your love. Let me live with a heart grounded in Your mercy and truth. Keep me near to Christ each day. Amen.
