Today's Good News

SEPTEMBER 4 – HEART

9/4 2 Corinthians 5:5-8
5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. 6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. 7 That is why we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
HEART
That yearning in our heart is for God’s family. We have a need to be filled by the living Lord. Without Him we are incomplete. Without Him our life is meaningless. I believe in Jesus, that He died to pay the price for my sin and was resurrected from the dead by the Lord. This very moment Jesus is in the place of honor at the right hand of God ever interceding for me. I need Jesus. Jesus loves me.

SEPTEMBER 3 – DEATH

9/3 2 Corinthians 5:4
4 Our dying bodies make us groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and have no bodies at all. We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life.
DEATH
Day after day we are on a march to death. We don’t know the day but one day we will cease to exist on this earth. Where will we go? That is our choice today. Will I give my life to Christ and all that that entails or will I choose to go my own way? What will it be? What will I choose? Choose.

SEPTEMBER 2 – WEARY

9/2 2 Corinthians 5:2-3
We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3 For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies.
WEARY
I must confess that this life has made me weary. Every minute of every day I struggle with pain. There are so many difficulties in my life and in every one’s life that it pushes me to pray. Lord I am longing for a new heavenly body. One day face to face Father, Lord Jesus I will see you.

SEPTEMBER 1 – CREATION

9/1 2 Corinthians 5:1
1 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down — when we die and leave these bodies — we will have a home in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
CREATION
We are a creation of God. He lets us choose to follow Him. He gives us the proof we need that we didn’t create ourselves. Life is an accumulation of choices. A good life is made up of good choices. Choose the Jesus and He will guide you to create a good life-a life with eternal impact.

AUGUST 31 – REMEMBER

8/31 John 14:28-31
28 Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really love me, you will be very happy for me, because now I can go to the Father, who is greater than I am. 29 I have told you these things before they happen so that you will believe when they do happen. 30 “I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the prince of this world approaches. He has no power over me, 31 but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let’s be going.
REMEMBER
Remember what Jesus tells you. Write it upon your heart by memorization. Remember the lessons you have learned from Christ and apply them to your life. The Christ like life is a surrendered life. Be quick to listen and slow to anger. Jesus loves you.

AUGUST 30 – PEACE

8/30 John 14:27
27 “I am leaving you with a gift — peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
PEACE
We can have peace; it is a gift from Jesus. Claim His love. Live under His direction and you will have peace.

AUGUST 29 – LISTEN

8/29 John 14:22-26
” 22 Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, “Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?” 23 Jesus replied, “All those who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and live with them. 24 Anyone who doesn’t love me will not do what I say. And remember, my words are not my own. This message is from the Father who sent me. 25 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. 26 But when the Father sends the Counselor as my representative — and by the Counselor I mean the Holy Spirit — he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I myself have told you.
LISTEN
Listen, Jesus is speaking to you. He focuses on your life. He knows your needs. Do not despair, hope in Christ. He will never fail you.

AUGUST 28 – OBEY

8/28 John 14:20-21
20 When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them. And I will reveal myself to each one of them.
OBEY
Obey the Lord. He asks us too and He helps us to understand. Our obedience indicates our love. Our obedience is the foundation for our relationship with Jesus. Are you obeying Him? Strive to be obedient.

AUGUST 27 – ALIVE

8/27 John 14:17-19
17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans — I will come to you. 19 In just a little while the world will not see me again, but you will. For I will live again, and you will, too.
ALIVE
Jesus is alive. He is a living Savior. He loves you. He wants to give you the guidance you need to live a Godly life. He is Lord.

AUGUST 26 – OBEY

8/26 John 14:14-16
14 Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it! 15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you.
OBEY
Check your position. Are you obeying the Lord? If so you are evidencing your love for Jesus. Life may seem complex but it is only complex when we say one thing and do another. A faithful heart stops that old deceiver.
