JUNE 6 – YES

6/06 1 Peter 2:1-3
1 So get rid of all malicious behavior and deceit. Don’t just pretend to be good! Be done with hypocrisy and jealousy and backstabbing. 2 You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, 3 now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.
YES
Yes Lord I hear you and will change the way I act. I am called to know the Lord. As I know Him I will set aside those things I do which offend the Lord. One thing I know that offends the Father is my sin. Cleanse me from my unrighteousness Lord and use me in Your perfect way.

JUNE 5 – CONTROL

6/05 Psalm 25:15-22
15 My eyes are always looking to the LORD for help, for he alone can rescue me from the traps of my enemies. 16 Turn to me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and in deep distress. 17 My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all! 18 Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. 19 See how many enemies I have, and how viciously they hate me! 20 Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for I trust in you. 21 May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. 22 O God, ransom Israel from all its troubles.
CONTROL
When life is out of control and everything if chaotic turn to Jesus. Ask Him to save you. Seek His strength. Let Him have control of you and He will change the chaos around you from absolute failure to outstanding hope. The Lord will deliver you.

JUNE 4 – FEAR

6/04 Psalm 25:8-14
8 The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. 9 He leads the humble in what is right, teaching them his way. 10 The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all those who keep his covenant and obey his decrees. 11 For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins. 12 Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. 13 They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the Promised Land. 14 Friendship with the LORD is reserved for those who fear him. With them he shares the secrets of his covenant.
FEAR
Fear of the Lord by His children involves reverence and awe, hatred of evil and obedience to God. As we develop our spiritual life in friendship with Him we will bend our knee to the Lord and fear Him.

JUNE 3 – TRUST

6/03 Psalm 25:1-7
1 A psalm of David. To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. 2 I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. 3 No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. 4 Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. 5 Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. 6 Remember, O LORD, your unfailing love and compassion, which you have shown from long ages past. 7 Forgive the rebellious sins of my youth; look instead through the eyes of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD.
TRUST
Trust is a foundation stone upon which we build our relationship with Jesus. Our life will change as we grow in our relationship with the Lord. Our trust will underscore everything we do as we seek to follow Jesus. Hope in the Lord.

JUNE 2 – KING

6/02 Psalm 24:1-10
1 A psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. 2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. 3 Who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. 5 They will receive the LORD’s blessing and have right standing with God their savior. 6 They alone may enter God’s presence and worship the God of Israel. Interlude 7 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 8 Who is the King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, invincible in battle. 9 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 10 Who is the King of glory? The LORD Almighty — he is the King of glory. Interlude
KING
Jesus is our King. He leads us in His triumph. He is able to take care of us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus is Lord of all things and He loves us.

JUNE 1 – SHEPHERD

6/01 Psalm 23:1-6
1 A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. 2 He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. 4 Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You welcome me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
SHEPHERD
He is our Shepherd. There is nothing that can overrun us or remove us from His hand. He is alert to all that is going on and we can conquer all things by His strength. Focus on Jesus and not the trouble. Focus on Christ and not the obstacle. Do not fear simply keep your eyes on the SON. He will give you the courage you need to face the day of trial.

MAY 31 – SECURITY

5/31 Romans 8:28-39
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters. 30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And he gave them right standing with himself, and he promised them his glory. 31 What can we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since God did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? Will God? No! He is the one who has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? Will Christ Jesus? No, for he is the one who died for us and was raised to life for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to God, pleading for us. 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? 36 (Even the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” ) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. 39 Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
SECURITY
Jesus Christ is our security. He has us in the palms of His hands. Whatever suffering we face it is only for a while and Jesus goes through it with us. Victory is our watchword for in Christ our victory has already been won. Nothing can separate us from Jesus.

MAY 30 – SHARE

5/30 Romans 8:17-27
17 And since we are his children, we will share his treasures — for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. 18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will give us later. 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20 Against its will, everything on earth was subjected to God’s curse. 21 All creation anticipates the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 And even we Christians, although we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, also groan to be released from pain and suffering. We, too, wait anxiously for that day when God will give us our full rights as his children, including the new bodies he has promised us. 24 Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you already have something, you don’t need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently. 26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
SHARE
I suspect that you like me often struggle with the idea of our sharing in Christ’s glorious freedom right now. Oh we think about heaven and when things are going right we speak confidently but what about when things go terribly wrong what then? We share this moment all Christ’s riches. We can only imagine in the most primitive way what this will mean but we know that it is significant. We share in all of His glory and riches and consequently in His suffering for the world hates Jesus. The fact that we share in His sufferings and can see and experience that should encourage us to more strongly believe in the sharing in His riches that will one day be ours. Rejoice for we belong to the King of Glory and will benefit from His glorious riches from now into eternity.

MAY 29 – CHANGE

5/29 Romans 8:11-16
11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you. 12 So, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation whatsoever to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. 13 For if you keep on following it, you will perish. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you turn from it and its evil deeds, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 So you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves. You should behave instead like God’s very own children, adopted into his family — calling him “Father, dear Father.” 16 For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children.
CHANGE
Yes even after being saved our nature urges us to sinful things. No we are no longer under its control for the Holy Spirit indwells us and He gives us the power we need to stop sinning. It is an act of our will. I can choose not to sin therefore I encourage you to stop sinning. And when you do sin immediately return to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you and equip you as you again turn away from sin. The spiritual walk is easy. But it is impossible to sin and continue on a Godly path. Choose who you will follow and do it.

MAY 28 – FREE

5/28 Romans 8:1-10
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2 For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death. 3 The law of Moses could not save us, because of our sinful nature. But God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours, except that ours are sinful. God destroyed sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. 4 He did this so that the requirement of the law would be fully accomplished for us who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit. 5 Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. 7 For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. 8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. 9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them are not Christians at all.) 10 Since Christ lives within you, even though your body will die because of sin, your spirit is alive because you have been made right with God.
FREE
We are free in Christ. He broke our chains of bondage and gives us a new heart and a new life. Life in Christ is life surrendered to Him. We develop a willingness to obey Jesus and a yearning to be with Jesus. This results in a growing faith and an inspired loyalty. The Holy Spirit resides in us to encourage and unite us with Jesus. Everything we need for spiritual living and spiritual growth we will find in Jesus.
