Today's Good News

SEPTEMBER 10 – WISDOM

09/10          James 3:17

17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

WISDOM

I need wisdom to live a Christ like life.  I cannot get this wisdom from the world.  It is not in the next self-help books.  God’s wisdom is different from man’s wisdom. His wisdom says to be long-suffering, to show our value of others, to care for the orphan and widow and to listen to others as they voice their pain and suffering.  We are called to be merciful.  There is the need for good works.  We are to live a life of genuineness, sincerity and unbiased care for others.  People count with the Lord.  When the Lord is first and people count with us we are on the road to wisdom.  Follow Jesus, help people.

SEPTEMBER 9 – PROVE

09/09          James 3:13

13 If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

PROVE

If I am to prove that I am wise I will fear God and change the way I act.  I will recognize that the Lord is here and is watching everything I do.  He is aware of my failures and my victories and continues to love me and have good thoughts towards me.

SEPTEMBER 8 – HARSH

09/08          James 3:1

1 Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.

HARSH

That is a harsh word.  Most of us want to be in the limelight.  We want to be recognized and celebrated.  Remember that when you are in the limelight the light of God is shining on your heart and soul and the Lord knows all that you do and say and think.

SEPTEMBER 7 – STAND

09/07          James 1:12

12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

STAND

Stand on what you believe.  Jesus is Lord and He is committed to you.  Every day, every day we need to make sure that we know the right thing to do.  Start by doing the next right thing.

SEPTEMBER 6 – NEED

09/06          Isaiah 41:17

17 “When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the LORD, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will never abandon them.

NEED

What do you need?  Ask the Lord.  He is able to meet your need.  He is more than abundant in His blessing of us.  Go to Jesus and He will give you what you need.

SEPTEMBER 5 – THANK YOU

09/05          Isaiah 41:13

13 For I hold you by your right hand— I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.

THANK YOU

Thank you Lord for caring for me.  Thank you for saving me.  Thank you Lord for standing with me as I face the chaos and brevity of life.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 4 – TODAY

09/04          Isaiah 41:10

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

TODAY

Today the Lord is with us.  He operates in the present time that we live in and will never forsake us.  Jesus works in us and through us and works within the reality of our life.  He is here now and that is the only place that I can serve the Lord-NOW.

SEPTEMBER 3 – FOCUS

09/03          Hebrews 13:8

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

FOCUS

Focus your life on Jesus.  He never changes.  When things get odd and you are wavering remember that He is our sure foundation.  Do the next right thing and walk your way back to Jesus.  He is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 2 – FOLLOW

09/02          Hebrews 13:7

7 Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.

FOLLOW

Follow another seems to be a lost art.  We are to observe the life of our leaders and follow them as we grow in the faith.  Too often today we disparage our leaders and abuse them.  Serve the Lord in all humility thinking more of others than you do yourself.  Follow those the Lord has put in leadership positions over us.  Learn to be a follower first and then in the appropriate time you will be in a position for the Lord to use you as a leader.

SEPTEMBER 1 – STOP

09/01                   Galatians 6:9

9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

STOP

Stop where you are, never give up.  Do the next right thing.  Serve the Lord with gladness.  Never, never, never give up because Jesus loves you and He will never leave you ever.
