Today's Good News

May 30           Psalm 23:1

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Four Points:

  1. The Lord Personally Leads – He is not just a shepherd; He is my Shepherd.
  2. He Provides All We Need – “I shall not want” means lacking nothing essential.
  3. He Cares with Tender Strength – The shepherd both defends and feeds.
  4. Following Brings Peace – When we stay near Him, fear fades and rest returns.

My Shepherd
The grass is green, the water still,
My Shepherd leads me by His will.
I do not chase the wind or gain,
For He provides in loss and pain.
I follow Him and find enough.

His staff defends, His rod corrects,
His eyes are kind, His care protects.
He walks beside through night and day,
He knows each turn, He makes the way.
I do not fear, for He is near.

The world may flash its gold and pride,
But peace is found when at His side.
He feeds my soul and lifts my head,
He sets the table, gives me bread.
And grace is poured until I’m full.

This is enough: to know His name,
To walk with Him, through fire or flame.
He knows my path and hears my cry,
He keeps me safe and watches high.
The Shepherd leads; I follow still.
