“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
— Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)
5 Points:
- God prepares the way before we even arrive.
- His constant presence removes fear and uncertainty.
- Trust grows when we remember who leads us.
- We are never abandoned in the path He calls us to walk.
- God’s faithfulness is the banner over every journey.
Before My First Step
You stand at the edge of my road.
You call before I dare to rise.
You shape the way with unseen hands.
You sing over the sleeping hills.
You ready the morning before I wake.
Fear falls from my trembling hands.
Dismay shrinks beneath your voice.
You walk beside my waking heart.
You walk ahead of my stumbling feet.
You call the future into life.
The valleys whisper of your love.
The mountains echo your name.
You fill the forests with your songs.
You flood the fields with your peace.
You make the barren places bloom.
I will not fear the rising unknown.
I will not shrink from the length of the road.
You are already in the shadowed turns.
You are already in the bright clearings.
You are already in the songs I have not yet sung.
Today I step forward in trust.
Today I breathe the courage you give.
You go before me, Lord of all.
You walk with me, Shepherd of grace.
You hold my end from my beginning.
Daily Prayer:
“Lord, thank you that you go before me; help me walk in your courage today.”
