MAY 13 – WEAKNESS

05/13 Luke 22:34
But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. The rooster will not crow tomorrow morning until you have denied three times that you even know me.”
WEAKNESS
We have a great weakness towards sin. Every one of us has this weakness and we cannot conquer it without Jesus. We spend time with Him. We let Him control us and still we fail. Do not fear for in our failure is the opportunity to change and know Him better. Sin is serious and so is Jesus.

MAY 12 – WEAK

05/12 Luke 22:33
Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.”
WEAK
Peter discovered how weak he truly was when he denied Jesus. We are weak and will not survive without the Lord’s strength. Stay in the Word and commit yourself to be faithful in prayer or you will find yourself denying Jesus.

MAY 11 – TRAGEDY

05/11 Luke 22:31
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to have all of you, to sift you like wheat. 32 But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen and build up your brothers.”
TRAGEDY
It was a great tragedy that struck Peter when he denied Jesus. It was a great Savior that reached out to Peter in his heartbreak and heartache. Peter was restored by Jesus and lived to serve his brethren and the Lord’s church.

MAY 10 – DIFFERENT

05/10 Luke 22:27-30
Normally the master sits at the table and is served by his servants. But not here! For I am your servant. 28 You have remained true to me in my time of trial. 29 And just as my Father has granted me a Kingdom, I now grant you the right 30 to eat and drink at my table in that Kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
DIFFERENT
It will be different here. We are called to be servants and such we are. Love one another. It is different than the leaders in this world who Lord it over their people. We are called to serve people and to tend to their lives. Share the Gospel. Walk the talk. Jesus is Lord.

MAY 9 – CHANGE

05/09 Luke 22:23-26
Then the disciples began to ask each other which of them would ever do such a thing. 24 And they began to argue among themselves as to who would be the greatest in the coming Kingdom. 25 Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men order their people around, and yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ 26 But among you, those who are the greatest should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.
CHANGE
Jesus’ Kingdom would be different. Unlike the world the followers of Jesus would be called servants. Ministry is the call and each one of us that names the name of Jesus as Lord is called to serve one another. All around us people are in need. We are equipped by Jesus to meet that need with gladness.

MAY 8 – JUDAS

05/08 Luke 22:21-22
“But here at this table, sitting among us as a friend, is the man who will betray me. 22 For I, the Son of Man, must die since it is part of God’s plan. But how terrible it will be for my betrayer!”
JUDAS
The Evil One possessed Judas. He was in control of Judas’ mind. Woe unto this great sinner for in his betrayal he sealed his condemnation unto eternity. O Lord deliver us from the evil that so easily blinds us. Guide us in the way we should go. We are weak but you Jesus are strong. Save us Lord. Save us.

MAY 7 – WINE

05/07 Luke 22:20
After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This wine is the token of God’s new covenant to save you — an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.
WINE
His blood our salvation. What a Savior. Jesus is Lord of all and He paid the price for the forgiveness of our sin. His work on the Cross and the Father raising Him from the grave offers us the opportunity to be a part of the Family of God.

MAY 6 – BROKEN

05/06 Luke 22:19
Then he took a loaf of bread; and when he had thanked God for it, he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
BROKEN
The Roman soldiers broke his body; and they would hang Him on the Cross. His physical body was so badly battered that Pilate was surprised when the soldiers told him Jesus was dead. He was broken and poured out for our forgiveness.

MAY 5 – HIS BLOOD

05/05 Luke 22:16-18
For I tell you now that I won’t eat it again until it comes to fulfillment in the Kingdom of God.” 17 Then he took a cup of wine, and when he had given thanks for it, he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves. 18 For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.”
HIS BLOOD
Jesus would pour out His blood on the Cross-for us. It was an effective offering that paid the price for our sin. No longer are we strangers but are provided for as members of His family. Jesus shed His blood for you.

MAY 4 – DANGER

05/04 Luke 22:15
Jesus said, “I have looked forward to this hour with deep longing, anxious to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins.
DANGER
Jesus knew that the Cross event was coming and He wanted to make sure that He helped the Disciples see the meaning of the Lord’s Supper. We celebrate this event until today and until Jesus returns. Jesus is Lord and He loves you.
