JULY 28 – PEACE

July 28                        Colossians 1:19-20

19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, 20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

PEACE

Peace is available in Jesus.  We need peace.  We are often desperately looking for peace.  Jesus is our peace.

JULY 27 – HEAD

July 27                        Colossians 1:18

18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.

HEAD

Church is the body of Christ.  Jesus is the head of the church!  He is in charge.  He has explained what He wants and He expects us to do things that way.

JULY 26 – ALL

July 26                        Colossians 1:17

17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

ALL

Jesus is the Creator, the active ingredient that holds everything we see together.  Nothing exists without Him.  He is God’s Everything.  We begin with Jesus, we grow in Christ and we will be with Him throughout eternity.

JULY 25 – CREATOR

July 25                        Colossians 1:15-16

15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, 16 for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

CREATOR

Jesus is the Creator of all the things we see and cannot see.  He is active in our world.  We need to grow in our relationship with Jesus so that we will know what the Lord wants us to do.  Pray, read, listen, all three are important in growing our relationship.

JULY 24 – ALIVE

July 24                        Colossians 1:13-14

13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

ALIVE

We are alive in Jesus Christ.  He gave us life when we asked Him to forgive our sin.  Now you too can have this life in Christ if you choose it.  But, I want you to know that whether you accept Jesus or not does not change the fact that the Christ is Lord of Life and the Son of God.  Jesus is alive.

JULY 23 – HEARD

July 23                        Colossians 1:6

6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.

HEARD

You heard the Word of Truth, Jesus saves, and you believed it and accepted Christ and He saved you.  Now your testimony of the Good News, the Gospel, is that Jesus saved me and He can save you.  This message is going everywhere you go.  Tell the Good News to everyone you meet.

JULY 22 – CARE

July 22                        Colossians 1:3

3 We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

CARE

I care about you.  You are precious to Jesus.  You have worth and value.  You need to know that the journey you are on is a valuable and worthwhile journey that is important in the kingdom.  Jesus is Lord and He loves you.

JULY 21 – JESUS

July 21                        Philippians 4:19

19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

JESUS

Jesus is God’s everything.  He is who we start with and who we will end up with.  He is the alpha and omega.  Before all things He was.  He is the bright and morning star, our victor, our Savior.  Jesus Christ is our Lord-it is He that saves us.

JULY 20 – PRAY

July 20                        Philippians 4:6

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.

PRAY

Pray about everything. Trust the Lord and be in constant prayer.  Thank Him for He will do it.

JULY 19 – SUFFERING

July 19                        Romans 5:3-5

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

SUFFERING

We don’t understand it most of the time, but His promise is that our suffering will not lead us to despair instead it will lead us to Him.  He dearly loves us.  He is always with us.  Our suffering will be used to help us develop endurance and strength of character which will enhance our confident hope in His salvation.
