SEPTEMBER 23 – NOW

09/23               Psalm 119:60

60 I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.

NOW

Obedience is an action we take right now.  It isn’t tomorrow or later, it is always now.  Hurry to obey the Lord.  Obey Him immediately.  The end result will be constant growth in Christ.  The Lord is good and is always seeking our best good therefore we are called to obedience.

SEPTEMBER 22 – FRUIT

09/22               John 15:8

8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

FRUIT

Fruit is the result of sharing the Gospel with others, them hearing the Word of Salvation and accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior-the Holy Spirit is the One who seals the Gospel into the lives of others.  We don’t save others, we just share the Good News and the Holy Spirit brings life.  We are to be busy spreading the seed of the Gospel-the Good News.

SEPTEMBER 21 – CHOOSE

09/21               Joshua 24:15

15 But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.”

CHOOSE

No fence sitters in the kingdom of God.  Choose today who you will be, a Christ follower alive and well on planet Earth or a world follower dead in their trespasses and sin.  We can only be one or the other never both.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 20 – FAITH

09/20               James 2:17

17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

FAITH

Faith is step one, action is step two, peace and joy are overarching both.  When we have faith we act upon that faith.  The Lord is at work and He is active.  He calls us to live out our beliefs.

SEPTEMBER 19 – PRECIOUS

09/19               Psalm 37:23

23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

PRECIOUS

We are precious to the Lord.  He is interested in every word we speak, every thought we think and every action we take.  He will give us wisdom and understanding if we will ask Him.  He wants to be intimately involved in our lives.  Jesus is Lord and is Lord of all.

SEPTEMBER 18 – PEOPLE

09/18               John 13:35

35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

PEOPLE

People count.  All people count.  How can we say we love God whom we cannot see if we cannot love our brethren whom we can see? We are our brother’s keeper.

SEPTEMBER 17 – WHAT?

09/17               Matthew 19:21

21 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

WHAT?

What will you do? Will you follow Jesus or will you make excuses?  Excuses never count.  Following Jesus always works.  Please, right now, make a commitment to follow Jesus.

SEPTEMBER 16 – THINK

09/16               Colossians 3:17

17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

THINK

Think about what you say, where you are and what you do.  We are always on duty for Jesus.  He is always present where we are.  He loves you.  Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 15 – LEARN

09/15               1 Peter 2:21

21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.

LEARN

Learn about Jesus by spending time with Him.  Study the Word.  Talk with Him.  Listen to Him.  Make sure that you become and hearer of the Word and carefully apply that word to our life and do what He says.  Be a doer of the Word in addition to a hearer of the word.

Jesus is Lord.

SEPTEMBER 14 – TRUTH

09/14               John 8:31-32

31 Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

TRUTH

Jesus wants us to know the truth.  He will not hide if from us.  If we will spend time with Him and ask Him He will tell us the truth and it will set us free from bondage.  We show our love for Jesus by listening to what He says and doing that out of our obedience for Him.  The Lord is good and gracious and He loves you and me.
