15 Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge. 

YES

Yes, I want to be intelligent therefore I will cultivate listening ears.  People count with the Lord and they count with me so I will listen when they speak.  I want to be quick to listen and slow to speak.

03/08               Proverbs 17:27-28

27 A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered. 

28 Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.

LISTEN

It is important for us to listen.  We have two ears and only one mouth.  Today begin purposely listening to people first before you speak.

WISDOM

We are encouraged to seek wisdom and to grow in wisdom.  Wisdom will help us to grow in Christ likeness and will equip us to live Godly lives in the face of the onslaught of evil.  Christ is all and in all and it is He who is our goal.

33Fear of the LORD teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.

BE

We are called to be God-fearers so that we might grow in wisdom and have the good sense to cultivate a humble character.  Too many today do not fear God and live a life of egotistical separation from those they deem as social inferiors.  Tragic.  We are all created by God and His Word says that the key test for our relationship with Him is our love for one another.

29 People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. 

ME

Too many times I have let my temper get the best of me.  The Word says that is foolish.  I have found in my own life that is true.  You never have to apologize for what you don’t say.  Practice this truth.  Control your temper and serve the Lord with gladness.

FEAR

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  When we recognize how little we know and how much the Lord wants to bless us we will begin the habit of asking the Lord about all that we do.  We have been called to tasks that the Lord includes in our spiritual calling.  Do what He says as best you can and trust Him to win the victory.

10 Pride leads to conflict; those who take advice are wise. 

EGO

Ego is the refuge of the foolish and failures.  Setting aside our ego demands discipline and humility.  We belong to God, He is our father and we are His children.  We can be confident of His love and that He knows everything about us already.  Ego is a false friend condemning you to failure and disappointment.  Be wise and let the Lord speak to you.

CAREFUL

A careful life is a life that cultivates listening skills.  Listen to others.  You will discover that wisdom doesn’t begin and end with you.  The people around you can be helpful in your journey to Christ likeness.  Listen with your two ears and keep your one mouth shut.  Be about the business of healthy living.  People count with Jesus.

2 Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 

SEEK

Set aside your ego and do not let it lead you into disgrace.  Be who you are-honest, open and transparent.  Do what you can do.  Keep your heart and mind focused on Jesus.  Seek to serve those around you especially your family.  This will put you on a journey of joy and peace.  Jesus loves you.

02/28               Proverbs 10:23

23 Doing wrong is fun for a fool but living wisely brings pleasure to the sensible. 

HEED

Heed the Word of God.  His Word’s are wisdom for living.  The Holy Spirit will walk with you and give you wisdom as you need it.  Do not overlook your great need for wisdom.  Let the Lord care for you.  Serve the Lord with gladness and be wise in your daily life-study the Word, listen to the Holy Spirit and spend time with Jesus.
