FEB 22 – ROMANS 15:8-12

02/22          Romans 15:8-12

For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed 9 and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name.” 10 Again, it says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.” 11 And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples extol him.” 12 And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.”

TOGETHER

We are called to live together as God’s people.  Jew and Greek (Gentiles) alike are in Jesus and God’s children.  Those that name the name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior have a responsibility to be part of God’s family and love one another.

FEB 21 – ROMANS 15:7

02/21          Romans 15:7
7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

ACCEPT

Jesus calls us to love one another.  That means that we will accept one another as Jesus accepts us.  Christ is King and is worthy of all our praise, honor and glory.  Praise the Lord Jesus, king of kings.

FEB 20 – ROMANS 15:4-6

02/20          Romans 15:4-6

4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. 5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAISE

All honor, glory and praise to Jesus Christ.  He is Lord.  He is our leader, savior, strength and in fact Christ is everything.  Love one another.  Do that and you will prosper.

FEB 19 – ROMANS 15:2-3

02/19          Romans 15:2-3

Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. 3 For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

HUMILITY

Christ calls us to be humble people.  That means we don’t get our way-we preach Jesus and Him crucified and raised from the dead.  Jesus is who and what we need to promote.  Christ is all and in Him we the fullness of the God head bodily.  Talk about Jesus.  Get over yourself.

FEB 18 – ROMANS 15:1

02/18          Romans 15:1

1 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

BE

We belong to Jesus and not to ourselves.  We do not have the right to hold ourselves out as experts and then not love one another.  For love is of Jesus and it is the overarching commandment Jesus gave us as His followers.  Love one another.  Stop spending time exhorting others about their shortcomings.  Preach and teach the loveliness of Jesus.  He is Lord and there is no other name by which we might be saved.  Jesus.

FEB 17 – ROMANS 14:22

02/17          Romans 14:22

So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

QUIET
Sometimes we are called to be quiet about what we think.  We do not claim our prerogatives.  Instead we assert God’s love and our humility and willingness to serve others.

FEB 16 – ROMANS 14:19-21

02/16          Romans 14:19-21

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. 20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. 21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.

EXACTLY
We are responsible for others.  When we understand this we know exactly what the Lord has called us to do.

FEB 15 – ROMANS 14:17-18

02/15          Romans 14:17-18

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.

CARE

The Lord cares for people.  It is important for us to understand that our call is to care for people.  The Lord cares for us and we are His hands and feet in caring for others.  People count.  You count.  Serve.

FEB 14 – ROMANS 14:14-16

02/14          Romans 14:14-16

I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.  15 If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died. 16 Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.

DEBT
We owe each other love from a pure heart and a committed mind.  When we do for others we are serving Jesus.  When we care for our neighbor we are caring with the hands of God.

FEB 13 – ROMANS 14:12-13

02/13          Romans 14:12-13

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. 13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

SERVE

Serve the Lord with gladness and love one another.  People need love.  People need people who care.
