May 28           Psalm 119:105

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Four Points:

  1. God’s Word Guides Us – Scripture gives direction when we cannot see the way.
  2. A Lamp, Not a Floodlight – God often reveals the next step, not the entire journey.
  3. Truth in Every Season – Whether in joy or trial, His Word remains sure and steady.
  4. Walking Requires Trust – We walk step-by-step, depending on the clarity of God’s light.

Step by Step
When roads are dark and paths unclear,
Your word gives light and draws me near.
Each verse I read, each truth I hold,
Becomes the strength when nights are cold.
You guide my feet through shifting ground.

The world is loud and full of doubt,
But You speak peace and draw me out.
You do not show the ending page,
But ask me trust through joy and rage.
And still I walk, because You lead.

A lamp does not reveal it all,
But lights enough so I won’t fall.
Your voice is sure, Your way is wise,
Your word lifts up my weary eyes.
I move ahead with steady heart.

The path ahead may twist or climb,
Yet each new day You give me time.
Your truth remains, your light is near,
And step by step, I walk in fear—
Not fear of man, but awe of You.

May 27           Psalm 34:18

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Four Points:

  1. God Is Present in Pain – He is not far off; He is close when we are most wounded.
  2. He Knows Our Sorrows – God’s nearness is not passive; He feels and understands our suffering.
  3. Salvation for the Crushed – God rescues not just the physically weak but the spiritually weary.
  4. Comfort Is a Promise – His nearness brings healing and hope, not just sympathy.

Near to the Broken
I cried alone and could not speak,
My bones were cold, my spirit weak.
But even there, God came and stayed,
He saw my heart and gently prayed.
His love reached in and touched my pain.

When breath was short and hope ran dry,
He caught my tears and heard my cry.
He sat with me in silence deep,
And held my soul where shadows sleep.
He did not rush or look away.

He spoke no words, yet peace was near,
And slowly broke the weight of fear.
He gathered all I thought I lost,
And stood with me beneath the cross.
His nearness changed the bitter night.

So now I know, when hearts are torn,
He draws us close, not with scorn.
He saves the weak, the shamed, the low,
He binds the wounds no one can know.
He walks with us through broken ground.

May 26           Isaiah 26:3

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

  1. Perfect Peace Is God’s Gift – Peace that is whole and complete comes only from God, not from our surroundings.
  2. The Mind Anchored on God – When our thoughts dwell on God’s character and promises, we are steadied.
  3. Trust as the Foundation – Peace flows from deep trust in God’s wisdom and control.
  4. Consistency Is Key – Remaining focused on God continually is what protects us from inner turmoil.

Peace That Holds
The storm may howl, the dark may stay,
But peace stands strong, it does not sway.
A quiet heart, a steady soul,
God’s calmness wraps and makes us whole.
He keeps us still, though winds may roar.

When I lean close and lift my eyes,
The weight of fear no longer lies.
His presence holds, His promise speaks,
Through all the nights and wearied weeks.
The path is firm beneath my feet.

Peace is not the lack of strife,
But God’s own breath poured into life.
The world may shift and pull apart,
But peace remains within the heart.
The stillness speaks of holy rest.

I choose to trust, and set my mind,
On One who’s good, and strong, and kind.
My thoughts are drawn to all He’s done,
And peace flows deep like morning sun.
He guards my life, both now and more.
