Scripture:
“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.”
— Romans 12:9 (NKJV)
Points:
- Christian love must be sincere — not fake or self-serving.
- Hypocrisy in love harms both giver and receiver.
- Real love hates evil — it doesn’t ignore sin.
- Love must be active in clinging to good — seeking it out.
- Pure love imitates Christ — genuine, holy, and committed.
Poem: No Mask, Just Love
Don’t let me love with empty words.
Don’t let me fake a caring smile.
Let what I say reflect what’s true.
Let kindness match the heart I hide.
Let realness shape the love I give.
You loved with hands, not just with lips.
You did not mask or hold back truth.
You saw the worst and loved us still.
You hated sin, yet drew us near.
Your love was fierce and full and clean.
Teach me to hate what breaks the soul.
To call out lies, not look away.
To cling to good though it costs much.
To fight for light in others’ lives.
To give when it is not returned.
Love does not quit when things get hard.
It does not seek its own applause.
It holds and heals, corrects and stays.
It speaks with grace and acts with fire.
It roots itself in what is true.
So make my love a mirror clear—
No games, no masks, no shifting tones.
Let it be brave and slow and sure.
Let it reflect the love You gave.
Let it be real and filled with You.
Prayer:
Lord, cleanse my love from all pretense. Help me to love with truth and grace, to hate evil, and to cling to what is good. Make my love like Yours. Amen.
