Blessing Of The Fear Of The Lord: Wisdom

17. Blessing Of The Fear Of The Lord: Wisdom

Proverbs 9:10 — “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.”

Colossians 2:3 — “In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

The fear of the Lord is the doorway to true wisdom. Many people possess information but lack wisdom because wisdom begins with reverence for God. Holy fear humbles the heart and makes it teachable. When a believer fears God, he learns to evaluate life through the truth of Christ rather than through emotions, pride, or worldly opinion. Wisdom grows where reverence grows.

    • Reverence produces discernment.
    • Fear exposes human pride.
    • Wisdom grows through humility.

What this does in the life of a Christ follower:

    • Helps distinguish truth from deception.
    • Strengthens godly decision-making.
    • Produces spiritual maturity.

    How to develop this:

    • Ask God daily for wisdom.
    • Submit decisions to Scripture.
    • Receive correction humbly.

    Prayer:

Father, deliver me from trusting my own understanding. Teach me to see life through the wisdom of Christ. Let Your truth govern my thoughts and Your Spirit guide my decisions. Make me teachable, humble, and wise. Amen.
