Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
Encouragement is love spoken. To build up is to put courage into another’s heart. Jesus Himself encouraged the weary, restored the fallen, and gave hope to the despairing. His words lifted the broken.
Love does not tear down; it builds up. Our calling is to reflect Christ by speaking truth that strengthens and hope that sustains. Every word can either exalt self or exalt Jesus. Building up is the way of Christ.
- Love speaks life, not death.
- Encouragement mirrors Christ’s ministry.
- Building others up is building Christ’s body.
- Words that exalt Jesus strengthen His people.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You never crushed the bruised reed. You never quenched the smoldering wick. You restored Peter after failure and lifted the brokenhearted. Let our words echo Yours.
Holy Spirit, bridle our tongues from tearing down. Fill our mouths with grace and courage. Let every sentence point to Jesus and leave His people stronger.
Poem — “Love That Lifts”
Courage flows from words.
Hope springs from truth.
Strength rises in hearts.
Faith is renewed.
Jesus is praised.
Discouragement breaks quickly.
Love builds slowly.
Grace restores deeply.
Patience heals surely.
Christ is revealed.
Encourage without delay.
Speak with holy weight.
Build with eternal care.
Lift with Christ’s hand.
Exalt His name.
