02/06 – Love That Serves

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. (Galatians 5:13)

Freedom in Christ is not the right to do what we want but the power to do what we should. Love expresses itself through service. Jesus, though Lord of all, stooped to wash feet. That is greatness in His kingdom.
Service is not beneath us—it is before us. Christ’s love bends down, not up. When we serve in His name, we exalt Him who came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom.

  • Love that does not serve is love in name only.
  • Freedom finds fulfillment in serving others.
  • Christ shows greatness by stooping low.
  • Service reveals the heart of Jesus.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for serving us with Your life and death. You washed the feet of sinners. You bore the cross we deserved. Let Your love shape our hands, our time, and our energy.
Holy Spirit, free us from selfishness. Open our eyes to needs around us. Let service be joy, not burden, because it is the overflow of Christ within.

Poem — “Love Stoops”
Freedom bends low.
Hands wash feet.
Hearts carry burdens.
Eyes see need.
Jesus is honored.

The cross defines service.
Sacrifice gives meaning.
Humility marks greatness.
Obedience glorifies God.
Christ shines bright.

Love is not distant.
Love rolls up sleeves.
Love takes the towel.
Love kneels in dust.
Love looks like Jesus.
