01/19 – A New Baptism

Romans 6:4 (NASB)
“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.”

Devotional Thought:
Baptism is the sign of our new beginning in Christ. Gratitude rejoices that we share in His death and resurrection.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude celebrates union with Christ in death and life.
  2. Baptism declares the old is buried and the new has begun.
  3. Gratitude walks daily in newness of life.

Poem – “Buried and Raised”
The water closed over,
The old was buried,
The past was gone,
The life was new,
The hope alive.

The grave was conquered,
The Christ was raised,
The glory revealed,
The power given,
The walk begun.

Gratitude lives in His death,
Faith walks in His life,
Hope rests in His glory,
Peace follows His power,
Joy rejoices in Him.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that baptism shows my union with Christ. Thank You that I share in His death and resurrection.
Help me to live daily in the newness of life. May gratitude guide my steps as I walk with Him.
