01/18 – A New Creation

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB)
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

Devotional Thought:
In Christ, we are not improved but remade. Gratitude rejoices that the old is gone, and the new has come.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude sees salvation as transformation, not renovation.
  2. The old life has no claim on those in Christ.
  3. Gratitude embraces the identity of a new creation.

Poem – “The Old Gone, the New Come”
The past was heavy,
The chains were strong,
But Christ broke through,
The old was gone,
The new was here.

The life was changed,
The Spirit renewed,
The heart made new,
The hope restored,
The joy alive.

Gratitude embraces the new,
Faith walks in His life,
Hope trusts His work,
Peace rests in His love,
Joy sings His name.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that in Christ I am a new creation. Thank You that the old has passed and the new has come.
Teach me to live in gratitude for this new identity. May I walk daily as one made new in You.
