01/16 – A New Power

Acts 2:4 (NASB)
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.”

Devotional Thought:
At Pentecost, God gave His people new power through the Holy Spirit. Gratitude rejoices that we are not left to live in our own strength but in His.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude acknowledges the Spirit as God’s power for new life.
  2. The filling of the Spirit equips us for witness.
  3. Gratitude lives in daily dependence on the Spirit’s strength.

Poem – “The Spirit Filled”
The room was filled with wind,
The fire rested on them,
The Spirit gave power,
The tongues proclaimed truth,
The church was alive.

Weakness turned to strength,
Fear became boldness,
The message went forth,
The world was changed,
The promise was true.

Gratitude lives in His power,
Faith depends on His strength,
Hope rejoices in His presence,
Peace rests in His work,
Joy sings His name.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that the Spirit fills us with Your power. Thank You that we do not live in our strength but in Yours.
Teach me to walk in daily dependence on the Spirit. May gratitude shape my heart as I live in His power and proclaim Your name.
