01/14 – A New Spirit

Ezekiel 11:19 (NASB)
“And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.”

Devotional Thought:
God not only gives new hearts but a new Spirit. Gratitude rejoices that He dwells within us, making us one with Him and with one another.

Three Comments:

  1. Gratitude celebrates the gift of God’s Spirit within.
  2. Unity of heart is God’s work, not ours.
  3. Gratitude rejoices that we are alive by His Spirit.

Poem – “The New Spirit”
The heart was changed,
The Spirit was given,
The people were one,
The covenant was sealed,
The life was new.

The stone was removed,
The flesh was alive,
The Spirit indwelt,
The presence remained,
The promise fulfilled.

Gratitude lives in the Spirit,
Faith walks in His power,
Hope rests in His presence,
Peace flows from His gift,
Joy sings of His love.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You give us new hearts and new spirits. Thank You that Your Spirit dwells within me.
Help me to walk daily in the power of Your Spirit. May gratitude shape my life as I live in His presence.
